Yes, i see.  Maybe it somethin that changed w server when site went goofy bit ago or some lil change made on that end. You could try diff hot editor for the touches and final copy paste to see if it work reg again maybe?

Somethin to do with the code interpretation between one editor phase and final swsf post code.

its as i explained

Word replaces these with ones that are stylized. The basic ones are just straight, word has ones that are curved in one way or the other.

Your fix for the future:
1. Click the Microsoft Office Button and then click Word Options.
2. Click Proofing, and then click AutoCorrect Options.
3. In the AutoCorrect dialog box, do the following:
3a. Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab, and under Replace as you type, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with "smart quotes" check box.
3b. Click the AutoFormat tab, and under Replace, select or clear the "Straight quotes" with ?smart quotes? check box.

I will see what I can do about updating database but it will be a bit because I haven't had time with Ali to move the site to my servers, hopefully this will happen sooner than later, though - maybe monday or tuesday if he has the time.

I write my stuff in Notepad and type in the coding as I go because I'm hardcore like that.

That is hardcore, Haley. My fevered little mind works in patterns, shapes and colors and very seldom the technical aspects of anything. I'm deep in the Matrix.

I write posts only in the nude, literally.  Including OOCs.  :-*

LOL! That must get those creative juices flowing...so to speak.  ;)  I just hole up in my office when I get inspired and write for chunks of time. It doesn't always end in posting but I need to get the framework down sometimes. Or work out those character issues.

Look at all of us having a normal OOC conversation about things and stuff without it devolving into madness. It's a beautiful thing.

Just FYI you might find the forum down in maintenance mode later today or tomorrow - just switching servers.

Hey all, just another bit for you writers out there.

I just watched a presentation on the 7-point plot structure by Dan Wells, which he applies to fiction (novels and movies)... google it, read/watch the presentation. Good stuff.   (  read his blog post on it for an overview  )

But he gets the ideas from a Star Trek RPG guide called "Star Trek Roleplaying Game Narrator?s Guide"

PM me if you'd like more details. anyway. this guide, which I am reading through the relevant parts now, is really helpful in thinking up sweet storylines for your character(s) and giving things some shape. I am going to be applying it to my Hapan chars and the larger story there which I am still undecided on :P

Swamped with work right now, myself.  Trying to work on some more stuff in the background to get things where I'd like them to be (Storyline wise) for when the transition comes.

So, Hemlock Grove on Netflix. What do we think? I'll watch anything with Famke Janssen in it since I would leave IT-Guy for her in a heartbeat. He's already been warned. Love the setting and the way the show is shot. Can't tell if I hate her accent. Love the supernatural aspects as well, a la Carnivale but it is clunky in the way it transitions from scene to scene. The acting could be sharpened with the younger set but they are mostly up and comers so I'll let it slide. Interested to know if anyone else here is watching it and what they think. I think it's got potential.
