Colonel Lider Algoz, Sith Apprentice
Sel Zonn Station: Gundark's Cantina M-03 Alpha Team had been given leave for two days and was enjoying some rest and relaxation aboard
Sel Zonn Station, a nearly 900 meter long XQ2 Platform. The squadron had made the Gundark's Cantina into their watering hole of choice. Half of the dozen were currently in the Cantina while the other half had retired for the night. M-03-01, AKA "Brain," had taken a seat at the dejarik table and was in a focused game with an officer from the station. M-03-03 and M-03-04, known as "Dozer" and "Breaker," were seated at another table playing sabaac with several locals. M-03-05, the raven-haired and only female pilot in the squad aptly named "Midnight," was dancing with a pair of local ladies while M-03-06, "Damage," watched in jealousy from a table near the stage.
M-03-02, or "Payback," sat alone in a corner of the room with his back to the wall and a drink in his hand. He watched the scene with amusement and was enjoying the local band. He raised his arms and rested them on the backrest of the couch, then leaned his head back for a moment and closed his eyes. He opened them again and returned his gaze to the room when a short, fit individual entered the room and headed for a table in the far corner of the room where two other men and a woman sat. His posture and gait indicated military, but his hair and beard were out of regulation for most any force this close to the core. An unshakable suspicion awoke in him. He relaxed his face and continued to monitor the group, doing his best to not be obvious.
"Midnight" and her two new friends saw the man walk passed them to the table.
"Hello," she said out loud to herself, getting a chuckle out of the skinny blonde who's waste she had her arm around.
"I'll be right back, buttercup," she told the girl as she moved towards the table of four. She reached out with her left hand and tapped his right shoulder from behind, bringing her lips close to his ear and asking
"How about a dance?" The man looked back at her and made an annoyed gesture with his hand as if to say "go away" and returned to his quiet conversation with the other three.
"Oh come on, sugar. I could be the best thing that happens to you tonight."This time he stood from his seat and pulled her away from the table by the arm, saying through gritted teeth,
"Look lady, I am not interested. Now go bug someone else!.""Lady!" she replied flabbergasted and suddenly filled with rage.
"Who are you calling a lady, you... you... you... Ugnaught!"The racial slur brought the other three out of their seats. The man she had insulted quickly quelled the group with a downward motion of his left hand. Clearly this group was non-human friendly. True citizens of the core would not have had such a strong reaction. She stepped away from the table and back towards the bar when "Payback" intercepted her and escorted her over to his table.
"What was that all about?"I just asked him to dance and he got all annoyed. He must be some kind of Twi'lek lover or something. A real creep.""Did you hear anything they were talking about? Anything at all?""No, but it is obvious they aren't local. He spoke with an accent. I think he is from the Outer Rim territories." It was all beginning to make a little sense. The walk, the demeanor, the accent. "Payback" suspected he had been right about the stink of military on the man, but not of a friendly one. The man smelled of Rebellion.
"We're going," he told her.
"Get your things and go back to the room." He watched as she collected "Damage" and headed for the exit. He walked over to the dejarik table and hunched down beside "Brain."
"Sir, we need to leave. We have a situation." Not giving it a second thought, "Brain" stood from his seat and snapped his fingers at the sabaac table. Both "Dozer" and "Breaker" stood, dropped their cards on the table, and followed the two out of the room.
Sel Zonn Station: Blue Deck After being briefed on what he had seen, "Brain" had informed the others that their leave had been canceled. He distributed assignments to them and had them spread out through the station. "Midnight" and "Payback" returned to Gundark's Cantina, "Dozer" and "Breaker" headed for The Credit Chip, a casino on the station, and "Brain" and "Danger" would be heading for Mechanical Allies, a droid repair shop, and Delgas Medical Supplies, a pharmaceutical supplier. Over the next few hours the team would cover the entire Promenade looking for possible Rebel agents. Before leaving the cabin, "Brain" put in a call to the
Maleficent.
"Maleficent, this is M-03-01. We've got Rebel operatives in the system."Summary:SL continues.
