Living in the shadow of WTC, I think that it is too soon, specifically since I am a Rescue Worker in the NYC area. That being said. TOO FUNNY!

http://www.geekologie.com/2009/09/force_choke_and_spit_up_baby_v.php

Babies are best...in a Force choke. And with bbq sauce. Post-grill. Just a nice sear, really.

I say this only because my step sister is pregnant which means aside from my mobro, I am the only sibling - step, half, and biological - that is not married with child or has children. Everyone now has hyphenated names. Thus the 1500 mile gap between here and there. I find that pets are the new children among the tragically hip. Pets are better than children. They don't speak and you don't have to send those ungrateful bastards to college. A well trained animal will not eat shoes or ruin furniture. Point being: fuck babies, adopt a pet.

Esurance girl for the win!

I think you're being too hard on kids. With the opposable thumbs that dogs lack, they're much easier to train to do useful tricks. Like, "Get me a beer," and "Take out the garbage," and  "Go shovel that snow, boy!"

I'm in the hospital having your baby right now, Dem. Keep in touch, k?  :-*

Hahahahaa....

And yes, the thought of children as legalized slavery has crossed my mind more than once but I can't justify the ruined furniture and sacrificing style just to have a live-in maid.

You know, there is a positive to children. For example, they grow up to be adults.
Take yourself, for example

We can't use me as an example because regardless of which way you look at it, I am a nightmare of selfishness. Hence, having it all minus the husband and children. Two areas of my life I, at the moment, am unwilling to compromise for. Men my age are just realizing they are now either yuppies or aging hipsters and in this confusion I find no merit in keeping them around outside of the physical. I make more than they do and can hire someone to fix/clean/landscape whatever then send them on their way. No talking, no whining. My friends are my companions, the forum my hobby, and a career that trumps anything a man can offer. Besides, I'm still grieving and a husband or child would only be a bandaid over multiple blaster wounds. Time heals so I'm taking my sweet ass time.

You don't have kids, do you Med?
