Take your time getting caught up, we're shooting for a July 1st Launch. =) The official reboot started a few months ago, and I've slowly been retweaking specs and rules to accommodate the new timeline and factions. Everyone here has been a great help, namely Ramano and Dementat, in working through various ideas to improve the overall gaming experience. Under the Rules thread, there is an "Episode II Rules Update" topic that I posted which has all the major changes from v1.0 to v2.0 of the rules set. I would have to say that Heroes and Missions will no doubt be the biggest change overall of Twilight of the Empire, as with them you get some combat bonuses and special capabilities that can dramatically shape the game, so please take a look at the Republic Heroes to get an idea (still working on the Imperials and Independents). If you want to put in some work, you can overhaul the UCR Attack Calculator if you want. Then again, I've gotten used to doing it all manually at this point as I'm sure the others have, so I'm not even certain the UCRAC is worth it anymore.

Awesome, who all is playing and on what sides?

Is the empire divided now in the timeline?

As for the UCR Calculator, I'll have a look - is it just a matter of changing units and their UCR ratings? I think the UCR is probably the best invention ever btw! :D

And Hale you give me way too much credit. I was there to have ideas sounded off of me, but you're the real creative drive as well as who ultimately found ways to implement abstract conversation into actionable game play!

Also I haven't seen any ground combat mocking - i think we ought to test that out. The one thing that always depresses me is seeing only space conflict, when ground assets are ultimately what should be the prize. I'm going to keep reading, then look at the UCR code again and see if I can get that fixed up so we can have it in action.

Any comments about its functionality, etc would be good feedback as I tweak it.

Actually this will be focused much more on ground combat as many neutral planets have HUGE ground armies. In some cases upwards of 3000 squads of troops. The thing is ground combat works exactly the same way as space combat. So if it works in space, in theory it should work on the ground, ground will just be larger scale. However, this last mock we are doing im going straight for the ground so im pretty sure we are gunna find out here if it works or not.

As far as players:
GE: Dementat
IR: Gall + (Hale)
NR: (Vacant)
RA: Ramano
INDY: (Vacant) + (Hale)
HS: (Vacant)
HSC: Erasmar
TF: (Vacant) + (Hale)
CSA: (Vacant)

I believe Erasmar is already playing hapans, and currently I think im gunna get out numbered 3 to 1 against the imps, so I could use a bit of help with you taking the NR. And yes HS is Hutt Syndicate.

Not that it matters to GCW but I'll be in Europe til July 5th for some meetings. They could care less about American holidays and I get dibs on the collection which softens the blow of the nightmarish flight. So if I'm not lurking about sniping down Ramano, that's why. Medivh knows and will be able to continue our SL while I'm away.

The game is shaping up nicely, boys. I'm proud to see the forum's return to glory.

Go GCW!

I dont see the information about missions, etc? Is the planet list posted recently by Ramano the same as our old one?

By the way I'm going to move the calculators out of the site itself and into another website/dashboard type deal. You can copy & paste the info you want. This way I can have more liberal access to modifying the files when needed - which I recall was a problem the last time.

The list of planets itself is the same but this is about 4yrs after the last game took place so whats actually at the planets as well as their affiliation will be drastically different. There wont be "missions" like last time, just a flashpoint for us all to participate in once and a while that hale will set up. This game is simming as usual with the exception each player is their own faction.

And we can still build outposts and cells, etc?

Also, you should assign terrain qualities to the ground grids of each world. That'd be nice to have set in stone from the beginning.

is there an updated v of rules somewhere?

http://www.swsimforum.com/index.php?topic=560.0 <--- Updated Rules

I think we abandoned the outposts and what not in favor of just having people capture worlds. There are a few out of the way planets in the list that have no PDF for whatever reason that could be used as an outpost planet though. And unless your hitting a stronghold world, none of them are overwhelmingly powerful to begin with.

As far as terrain qualities, I have no idea about that. Not sure its even been discussed. The way I have the planet list set up basically all ground battling would be in a major city. -shrugs-

The old rules for ground combat use the 4 squares int he center of the map as the surface, and if you read there it is setup so you have to fly between them (cant walk troops from one to the next).

Thanks for the link, thats the one I was reading as it happens ;)
