Intelligence suggests that the Pentastar Alignment (PA) is looking to expand its territory beyond the borders demarcated by the 14 sectors already under its control. This is atypical behavior for Grand Moff Ardus Kaine and has attracted the attention of other Imperial factions as well as the New Republic.
Kaine's forces are currently using the Cezith system along the border of PA-controlled and non-PA controlled territory as a base of operations to launch patrol parties further into Clacis and make a grab for the entire sector.
COMPNOR (now the Office of Imperial Promotion, Galactic Truth, and Fact Correction) has provided the coordinates of a patrol party currently in deep space not far from the non-PA controlled systems of Marmoth and Venestria. Given the inimical history between Ysanne Isard's GE and the IR factions that splintered off, any intelligence provided by COMPNOR should be taken by the IR with some amount of caution. A pirate faction known as the Red Moons are known to patrol these areas as well, and they may be planning another raid on the PA... something they've been making a habit of doing lately. The Red Moons are led by Andrephan Stormcaller, a former Rebel Alliance and New Republic officer. Their primary concern is the Pentastar Alignment, but they will not hesitate to engage other Imperial factions if given the opportunity. The PA believes they are operating with tacit New Republic approval, but the NR denies this.
IR factions: If you choose to act on the intelligence from COMPNOR, your objective will be to destroy all PA ships in the vicinity and send a message to Grand Moff Ardus Kaine that it is in the PA's interest to limit their forces to the territories already under their control.
Additional objectives: The PA patrol may also be accompanied by a Nebulon-B Frigate called Darkreign that is believed to be in possession of information regarding the size and precise coordinates of the PA's next patrol. Capture it if you can.
**** This is a mini-campaign event, the first of many to come. Any faction that shows up, whether IR, NR, or anything else, is given a budget of 500 GC that can be used to purchase NPC ships for in-event use only. No awards will be given, but you will get a campaign badge / Tour of Duty and have a LOT of fun in the process. These mini-campaign events are meant to fill the gaps between the "real" campaigns and also add some extra fun into the mix. Even when non-campaign combat begins, we can still do these mini-campaigns to add variety.****

Since this event takes place in deep space, we will be using a large square grid.
The GM for this event is LordSeverus. The event will begin Saturday, December 22nd, and the turns will be based on order of arrival.
