IN THE EYE OF THE STORM
ACT I -- PROVENANCE

Campaign Background Story
The collapse of the Rakatan's Infinite Empire led to what historians refer to as the Galactic Dark Age - roughly 200 years before the first Galactic Republic was formed. During this time period, numerous factions began vying for power, hoping to fill the void left behind by the Rakatans. Among these were the Hutts, who held absolute control over their region of space. Another was the Tion Hegemony, ruled by the infamous tyrant Daritha Xim, styled as "Xim the Despot." Having conquered the northern parts of the Outer Rim, Xim's natural enemy was the Hutts. Although initial skirmishes were successful, the Hutts organized and rallied and began pushing back Xim's forces deeper into his home territories. In a last ditch effort to turn the tide of the war, Xim took his fleet to Nal Hutta in addition to a superweapon that he had built. However, the Hutt fleet was able to destroy Xim before the superweapon could be used. To this day, no one really knows what the superweapon was, only that the Hutts feared it to such an extent that they broke it apart and hid various pieces across the galaxy. To this day, the story of this superweapon is regarded by most historians to be a myth, but the recent discovery of Xim's Holocron has sparked a renewed interest. The holocron is rumored to contain Xim's military technology archives - and perhaps even the schematics to rebuild his fabled superweapon...

Campaign Guidelines
1. Activate your Force User.
2. Write kick-off storyline post. In order for your faction to take interest in Xim's Holocron, you can use a number of options: align yourself with the Mandalorian Death Watch, Crimson Dawn, Hutt Syndicate, or the Sisterhood of Imperial Sith. For purposes of this campaign, consider these entities Player Controlled. However, I will push things along by posting for DW, CD, and SIS if necessary to keep things moving. If you don't want to use a mini-faction, try to creatively weave your way into the story (perhaps by using some cues from the background story).
3. One way to think of this campaign is that it's going to be a war between mini-factions, which the bigger factions get sucked into.
4. There are some definitive plot points that I will make sure we get to for Act II, but Act I is for all of us to do some co-operative SL'ing together, and might include some small skirmish battles here and there.

XIM'S HOLOCRON
This legendary artifact is rumored to contain the complete archives of all of Xim the Despot's military technology. It is no secret that Xim's entire war machine was based off of reversed-engineered Rakatan technology, whose Infinite Empire is said to have given birth to galactic civilization as we know it, but the Tion Hegemony was the only government able to crack the codes of the Rakatan holocrons and decipher their schematics. And so, Xim's Holocron is considered to be a key to arcane knowledge that has long been forgotten. What perhaps most factions are interested in is the infamous War Droids, which is more technically known as the Phalanx-series Tionese battle droid. Although, the holocron is undoubtedly a treasure trove of all sorts of weaponry.

THE HARRIS BROTHERS
These two brothers joined the Galactic Empire a few years before the Battle of Yavin after their shipping business went under. Both brothers were able to score high enough on their entrance examinations in order to select which Academy they wanted to attended. The older brother Jamal opted for the Naval Academy, while the younger Quinton went off to the Intelligence Academy. Once the Galactic Civil War went into full swing, Jamal was offered a command position onboard the Star Destroyer Nightmare in Tempest Squadron, while Quinton opted for a non-official cover assignment in Hutt Space. During the GCW, Quinton was able to provide valuable information to the Empire about the strategic military capabilities of the Hutt Syndicate, but after the GCW ended Quinton was disavowed by Ysanne Isard. Forced to assume his cover identity just to survive, Quinton began taking all sorts of jobs to cultivate influence and resources of his own. Eventually, he was able to secure the Hydra, a Gozanti cruiser, and a small but efficient crew. As for Xim's Holocron, how he came about it is a mystery...

DEATH WATCH
Any student of Mandalorian history knows that in times of great distress, clans of warriors form in order to bring about great change. During the Clone Wars, Death Watch fought for Mandalorian independence, but was overthrown by Darth Maul and soon fell into disarray. This current iteration of Death Watch have wholly committed to realpolitik and no longer wish to see Mandalore as a client system of intergalactic powers. After learning of Xim's Holocron, they desire its secrets so they can liberate Mandalore and secure its place among the preeminent superpowers in the galaxy.

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

Crixus Lange
As a young boy during the Clone Wars, Crixus became enamored with the Republic war machine and felt that Mandalore deserved a place in the Republic - for afterall they had designed their entire military around Mandalorian tactics and technology. Once the Galactic Empire formed, and Mandalore remained independent, Crixus formed his own mercenary unit and began taking jobs for the Empire. In one mission, his team successfully killed a Jedi Master, and as a prize, he kept his lightsaber to use as his personal weapon for he believed the Jedi fought with honor and did not deserve his fate. As a student of martial arts, Crixus wields the lightsaber as naturally as any Force-user, and has even developed a knack for deflecting incoming blaster bolts.

Thule Barren
Thule got his codename for destroying an entire skyscraper with a single seismic charge because "he did the math" and found points where the explosion would create "fractals" and bring the whole building down. On top of his explosives experties, his tactical calculations consistently beat out droid predictions for risk and success. His mantra is: "With enough preparation and calculation, no shot is too far."

Jolee Cherise
Jolee earned her codename in the underworld of Coruscant, where for years she scrapped up a living as an enforcer-for-hire until she was found by Chief. She is an expert scout and likes to kill her marks up close.

Paul Vanderhaus
Paul runs point for Death Watch during assault missions, and is quick to respond - often with a sense of humor. He his fiercely loyal to Death Watch, but would also give his life for any Mandalorian anywhere. For this, his codename is from a beloved pack-animal creature native to Mandalore.

Hildegard Pellaeon
As a relative to the famous Admiral Gilead Pellaeon of the Imperial Remnant, Hilde's place in Death Watch is often questioned because of her competing loyalties. Regardless, she is one of the fiercest warriors in the galaxy and will gladly put anyone's assumption of her to test.
