Troop Specifics

Troop combat follows the same simple model as all combat in the Galactic Flashpoint universe. You choose a target, you choose which of your weapons to fire at the target, and you total the damage dealt to the target. Like every other unit, it may only fire its weapons once in any 12 hour period (generally in a single combat post). There are only a few specific rules that apply to troops beyond this simple core mechanic.

Companies

Troopers are treated as companies, and a single company is treated as a single unit (in the same way a capital ship is a single unit).

Damage Ratings

Most troop companies have two ratings. They may only use on or the other in a 12 hour period.

  - Skirmish Rating (the damage dealt to troop companies targeted)
  - Artillery Rating (the damage dealt to Vehicles, Starfighters, or Structures)

Multiple Targets

Troop companies may only make one attack versus one target in a 12 hour period.

Attacking Capital Ships, Support Craft, Platforms

Troops can only engage with Capital Ships and Support Craft that are themselves actively engaged with Vehicles or Troops. Otherwise, they are out of range. Platforms are always out of range. Troops should use their Artillery Rating when engaging these units.

Attacking Structures, Vehicles, and Troops

Troops can engage with Strucuters, Vehicles, and Troops with their Artillery Rating.
