Sorry, I was drunk.
Today's actually the first time I've logged in for almost 2 weeks I think. I find I'm getting bored with it. I'm on Tatooine, lvl 25, after skipping a ridiculous fight for a story mission, and the planet's just bland. Of course, a desert planet will be bland, but in general I've completely lost all excitement.
I think I've reached a point where I either need to join a guild to tap into that sense of community, or just end my brief stint with the game. I guess what dismays me is the lack of impact I feel, even if I were in a community. Sure there are the PvP worlds eventually, but it's more like just static competitions. Players don't really run anything, can't set up much of a culture, and these are things I didn't think would matter to me before.
So now I'm thinking of joining EVE, because even though I've heard it can be wicked hard, the community seems unmatched. You can actually TAKE territory with others, construct a station and defenses, and make it your home. So much of the environment is controlled by the players. A lot of griefing, sure, but it feels more alive to me.
Suppose I'll stick with SWTOR a little longer, but the shine is fading due to tastes I didn't know I had.
