For 1313 alone that's bad news, but overall probably good. With the brand opened up to external parties now instead of having to work for LucasArts to get creative input, while there may be in whole a deluge of crappy content, there will always be gems in the rough. More rough more gems.
Apparently LucasArts staff have been experiencing constant personnel shuffling anyways so there's no golden brainchild lost in the dismissals.
In similar news/know, Dark Horse's license of Star Wars comic book publishing is up around end of the year. Disney owns Marvel. Now that Disney owns Marvel AND Star Wars, Star Wars comic books are almost positively going to return to being published under Marvel (as the original 70s comic books were). Not necessarily bad news for anyone who likes SW Dark Horse work, because a lot of those same creative minds that worked on Dark Horse SW already do work for Marvel as well (i.e. Brian Wood, Alex Ross). But bad news for Dark Horse.
