ATTENTION K-MART SHOPPERS

HYPERSPACE RULES ARE NOW AS FOLLOWS:

1. Refer to the Galaxy Map for all hyperspace travels. The links between systems will be known as routes. To traverse each route, simply locate your departing system, and then add 6 Hours for each Red Route and 12 Hours for each Blue Route until you reach your destination. For example, Sullust to Endor would be 24 Hours.

2. All units with a hyperdrive now travel at x1 hyperspeed. We know this isn't canon, but fuck it.

3. Civilian comms and "all knowledge" travels at x2. Military comms travel at x1.

4. All ships currently IN HYPERSPACE RIGHT NOW are subjected to the old rules until you reach your destination. Sorry.

isn't Kmart dead?  I haven't seen one in awhile, last couple i knew of are now either Sears or WalMart.

hey side note, is anyone going with Forum time or are ya'll setting it local?  I just switched to local, it's -1 for me to be correct EST (no daylight savings adjustment programmed perhaps?).  Wondering if there'd be any benefit to somehow having a clear Forum Time Clock display on main page?  only place I can find real time forum time other than to make a post is in profile adjustments

Its not a bad idea, perhaps we can set the time of the forum to EST for everyone and make that unchangeable, so time isnt confusing.

Not that I have any issues with the idea, but it seems like extra unnecessary work. I dont understand how the forum time matters, as you cant post for another 24hrs. So regardless of what time the forum says, you cant post again until that time the next day. As far as travel times for it, 6hrs is 6hrs, doesnt matter if your in est, pst, or Japaneese time. So I just dont see why this would matter?

Because people post "i can exit 8am" and no one knows if its EST, central pacific, Santiago de Chile, etc :) So when we say 8pm, we mean 8pm forum time.

While this is true, again, how does this matter? Your not supposed to know when someone else is exiting HS anyway, lol. Thats OOC information that we arnt supposed to be allowed to use. Its supposed to be for record keeping use in case someone calls foul on the HS travel time so the GM can figure it out. When the GM talks with the person, im sure he would say which 8pm it was.

If it doesnt matter, why do you post two times to say it doesn't matter? just let it be :P

My apologies, I was trying to point out a flaw in your reasoning. Its not really a big deal, but I thought it important to point out that we arnt supposed to technically know when other people are exiting HS.

You are misunderstanding the intent. If everything went directly through the GM via PM then I suppose you are right. But as we all know, conversation spills out here. Either way, as you say, it doesn't really matter, because if you want to check someones HS time you can just look up their post in whatever time zone you are and do the math yourself. So yeah.

Ok we need some kind of a time frame for how long scans last. Its been over a week and your telling me he would still have accurate scans at a planet he no longer owns, or has any units at? Using that logic then technically I would still have scans from every planet Ive ever scanned. Come on now.
