Sullust was a surface barren obsidian world of lava streams and turquoise lakes. Most if not all of the valuable assets, including intelligent life and civilization, was found beneath the crust. The world was home to vast mining operations as well as the SoroSuub Corporation. During the height of the Empire, a collaborator government and corporate structure ruled over the system but resistance to Imperial domain was the rooted deep amidst the populace who staunchly supported the Rebel Alliance and employed sabotage at every possible juncture to undermine their oppressive overlords.
By the time of the Battle of Endor, the Sullustan Resistance was so well established and deeply intertwined with the Alliance that the Rebel Fleet used the nearby space to coalesce for the attack on the Second Death Star. Eager to shrug off the burden of Imperial reign, the Sullustans proudly back the New Republic as they did the Rebel Alliance.
