Slowly but surely, farmers began leasing their lands for strip mines, favoring a quick dollar over environment sustainability. Eventually the planet became a basket case for industrialism run amok, and offworld corporations began to slowly take over domestic affairs as well. When the Trade Federation reformed after the Battle of Jakku, the native Meerian population submitted to its authority in hopes to restore domestic ownership of mining operations. Should commanders utilize Bandomeer, its natural resources can be leveraged for droid production.
