Coruscant is the capital of the Galactic Empire (GE), as distinct from the Imperial Remnant factions that splintered off, such as the New Order, Tempest Squadron, and Terrors of the Imperium, as well as various Imperial warlords that went and formed their own mini-empires, such as the Zinj Empire led by Warlord Zsinj, Zero Command under the rule of Admiral Harrsk, and the Pentastar Alignment under the rule of Grand Moff Ardus Kaine. After the destruction of Death Star II and the death of Emperor Palpatine, control of the GE changed hands several times until it fell to Ysanne Isard. A year after the Battle of Endor, Coruscant is now heavily guarded by Isard's SSD the Knight Hammer and her fleet of Star Destroyers.
