NOTES: After the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance turned New Republic quickly found itself in need of a more permanent military base instead of a roving space-based "Rendezvous Point" system. Princess Leia chose D'Qar because it was relatively unpopulated, thus minimizing the risk it would have on the civilian population if it became a target. Much to Leia's chagrin however, once the Battle of Jakku ended, the New Republic saw fit to demilitarize the galaxy, which in turn put D'Qar out a favor due to its high visibility as a military-only base. Commanders wishing to utilize D'Qar would nonetheless poke the eye of the New Republic High Command, but would nonetheless benefit from the operations and mission coordination capabilities that D'Qar Base offers.
