Mandalore is a world scarred by centuries of interconflict between it's inhabitants, who over the years themselves have come to be regarded as some of the most professional and capable warriors in the galaxy. The surface has been almost entirely reduced to a barren wasteland, and the Mandalorians themselves have built great domed cities where their culture and people carry on. After the last major local wars ended, a pacifist global movement took power and has remained so since. During the Clone Wars, the government of Duchess Satine was nearly over thrown by the Death Watch but thanks to the help of the Jedi Order, the coup was averted. Today, Mandalorian warriors or those posing as them can still be found throughout the galaxy offering their services in soldiering as their homeworld no longer demands it, while the planet itself is a committed member of the New Republic
