Storing Units In Reserve

You can store reserve units on any world, no special facility is required. Keep in mind, however, that System Defense Force limits are still in place. For example, a maximum of 15 starfighter squadrons can be assigned to System Defenses at a world. If I have 24 TIE Fighter Squadrons stored in reserves on that world and no other fighters, only 15 of the TIE squadrons could participate in any battle as part of the Defense Force. The other 9 TIEs are simply sitting ducks on the surface of the planet.

Troops are a special use case, and under no circumstances can a planet ever host more than maximum troopers permitted by System Defense Force rules.

Units being stored and not used as defense forces have no shields activated and no systems. They cannot be used by any player, aggressor or defender. They can only be destroyed. If the world is captured, they become the property of the conquering force.
