Carida is a large moderately populated world in the Core region of the galaxy. It is best known for being the location of a prestigious military academy, the Academy of Carida, where the finest soldiers of the Republic and the Empire have trained for generations. The planet has heavy gravity lending to it's ideal nature for imbuing strength in individuals, and contributing to the native Caridan species physical biology. The Caridan people are a bipedal mammalian species around two-meters tall with dense muscular structure, robust torsos, thin appendages and hooved feet. They are mercantile oriented, known for being adept barters, and have built a robust modern industrial system on their world.
