Hi friends.
Ali (Empier4552 or some such) let the old domain expire - and after one brief contact failed to respond to any of my dozens of messages... so we lost the old domain name. It's registered to his name, and even though the registration is expired, I can't go and register it again right away. We needed him to pass it to us, and since he wasn't responding to messages...
We are now swsfonline.com!
If any of you are interested in helping to pay for the forum...
The 2-year registration cost about $28
A year of hosting costs $60.

So uhh, Syren, you ever thought about a cloud server for all your posts here? I cant say when I saw the other domain cancel I didnt laugh a bit, but yeah, thats a LOT of work to just have disappear should something happen to the forum. Having a back up for all that, if its still important to you anyway, might be a good idea. -shrugs-

I'm touched you care, Ramano. Worry not, all my work (from this forum and the RoTF forum) are all safely on an external drive and on my desktop. Each post is written in a Word document for the corresponding storyline prior to being edited then posted in the forum. My alarm stemmed from the story being unfinished and my favorite little nerd hobby disappearing. Some people play sports or do crafts - I sim.

The post DB is pretty huge - 1-2GB i think - but we could start making a backup of it and storing it on DropBox where it can be publicly accessed... then at least the material is always safe somewhere.
Not sure if DropBox gives you that much space free? Or if there is another service we could use to back it up.

Anyone heard from Med? I tried emailing him to let him know we're back up but so far nothing. Miss my sim homie.
