The RHD moved to from DS-1 to C-1 to B-1, then a shuttle is launched that moves to A-1 and enters the atmosphere heading to the meeting.

GM Advisory
Ramano, per the rules: once a unit enters the A-Ring, its movement points are exhausted. Since this Advisory is a week late I wont make any rulings, but please follow the movement rules to the letter next time.

Jason walked down the long hallway in the presidential palace with the ambassador. The negotiations to this point had been firm, but progressing as expected.

"Ambassador, by now im sure you have heard of the recent death of the emperor. You must also know that leaves the imperial war machine in shambles, lowly fleet commanders running about the galaxy on their own whims. What you may not have heard, the republic has lost nearly all of its military strength in their recent advances. They can not protect you should the time come, and with their headquarters located on Mon Calamari, that is quite a distance to travel should an imperial garrison arrive in your system. We however, can offer you the needed protection from any marauding imperial fleets, as well as maintaining your economic sovereignty should the republic come beckoning at your door. For one of the few times in history, your credits will be you're credits. We ask only a minor fee for maintaining the defensive fleet in orbit, credits you would have to furnish with or without an alliance between our people."
"Admiral, with all due respect, it is not your protection and promises we doubt, merely your motives. Even now we hear reports of a fleet laying siege to Bespin, lead by a captain Arterius. Do you deny him being one of your men?"

Jason stopped, looking toward the ambassador with a chuckle.

"Not at all, in fact he is there under my direct orders. A capable ship commander to say the least. However, if you further investigate, I believe you will find these reports to be greatly exaggerated. Unfortunately not all members of the galaxy are as evolved as we are blessed to be and thus need a little more encouragement for them to see their own weaknesses. Some simply do not approve of a peaceful approach."
"Unfortunate but a fact none the less."

The 2 men resumed their walk down the hallway. Jason had been playing his role perfectly, and a thought broke through on how to twist this event further into his favor, provided his captain could keep civilian casualties to a minimum.

"I believe I have something else that would be found of value to you and your people."

The ambassador stopped walking again eyeing him intently. The man was made an ambassador for his ability to read others, but the Admiral in front of him, with his uncaring emotionless facial expressions and body language made it nearly impossible to get a bearing. This concerned him less than it intrigued him, but his guard was kept at all times.

"And exactly what would that be Admiral?"
"With the war winding to an end, people will want to begin rebuilding their lives. I find myself in a position to offer exclusive contract rights to all construction equipment needed for the rebuilding effort. I do not believe I need point out what that would mean for your economy and numerous corporations."

The ambassador nearly choked at the thought. This would easily mean an influx of hundreds of billions of new credits to his planet. He found himself almost hoping for the destruction of Bespin in light of this new information but quickly shook the horrific thought from his head.

"I trust you can put that in writing?"
"Of course."

The two men continued discussing the details of this new arrangement still walking down the hall.

Jason signed the final piece of the document assuring Bakura of their construction contracts and their alliance with him. He placed the datapad down standing to shake hands with the various delegates and business men around him.

"This will be a new day for your people, one of peace and prosperity."
"We look forward to it. You will already find this years defense credits transfered to your accounts. Dont let our hard earned money go to waste admiral."
"You shall see the fruits of this labor quite soon to bolster your own defenses."

The men all walked from the room to the awaiting dining hall for the celebrations to follow.

   At the onset of the After Endor Campaigns, Bakura was one of the first Imperial systems to be aggressively acquired by the Rebel Alliance... and Hale was here to remind the Rebels of the Imperial Remnant's jurisdiction over the system: a job only suitable for the Primus Et Optimus... the 1st Imperial Expeditionary Force!

   As each of the ships ripped out of hyperspace, sublight engines lit up and began pushing the fleet closer to their destination. Immediately, Lambda Shuttles and TIE Interceptors began screaming out of the collective launch bays of the fleet, as it entered High Orbit with an absolute resolve to fight. The fleet then began actively scanning the system for hostiles - hoping to find a worthy target. All ComScan information was quickly patched to the HoloComm channels and transmissions were sent to every Imperial stronghold in the galaxy: a battle cry that would surely invoke additional wrath upon the hapless Rebels who feigned guardianship over the system.

   Stepping up the Communications Center, Hale grabbed a wired push-talk mic and opened a subspace channel to all who would listen.

   < Attention Imperial citizens of Bakura: your languishment under the wretched leadership of the pitiful Rebel Alliance has finally been answered. To the Alliance Defense Forces protecting this system, this is your one opportunity to leave now. If you chose to stay and fight, you will experience immediate and decisive action against your presence here... >

   Hale removed his thumb from the mic and walked away. "That should wake them up!"

   "Poignant, m'lord," replied Commodore Hawkins. "Let's hope they are wise enough to realize what this fleet was built for and retreat while they have the chance..."

   "Or foolish enough to fight. That's the thing with these Rebels, Commodore, their leadership is unstable. You never know what's going to happen next, yet: unpredictability grants you the initiative and element of surprise in almost every battle encounter..."
   
   "...until you are up against a determined and overwhelming force..." finished the Commodore, "Admiral Saul Karath, if I'm not mistaken."

   "You know your ancient naval history well, Hawkins. Thank you for reminding me why I picked you for the job," laughed Hale, casually.

   After the remainder of the ships in the fleet checked in with the Leviathan, Hale sat back in his command chair to wait and see what response he would get from the Rebels.

GM Decree

BAKURA -- My forces will "appear" immediately as the pause ends, and so I still require a full 24 hours to obtain active scans. Some of my units did enter the C-Ring already, and so the PDF is alerted to my presence regardless. Ramano, you will have 48 hours to post a PDF response. If none is posted, then I will assume Bakura has it's previously listed 7 CORVs on PDF and I will post for them to continue the Order of Battle under normal posting rules from that point on.

OOC Note: Not that it matters, but why are your T/Is for the Harpoon on CSP in C-13? Typo? Also, can we say... fucked? >=p And just in case you question the Idenna being here, I got my main fleet at Thyferra, the MC-90 at Bespin, and max PDF at Endor... it cant fit anywhere else but here.

General Drake sat in the command chair looking at the radar screen as the message came in. He was puzzled by the message, as were many on the planet itself as life under the Grand Admirals rule had not been any different then things had been before his arrival. The only real change had been the defenses of the planet itself, which would come as an unfortunate surprise for the imperials who would quickly find out they were equally matched in firepower, and not nearly far enough away from the fleet to avoid attack.

The General walked over to the holovid (which I dont really have, but fuck off, no ones coming, its for story effect) activating it, his shimmering form appearing unexpectedly before the Admiral.

"General Drake. While I do so enjoy our infrequent chats, I will have to say though you have impeccably bad timing."
"Pardon the interruption Admiral, but we have a heavily armed imperial fleet scanning the system. Count 1 heavy warship, multiple frigates and support craft."
"Does there happen to be some kind of problem with the Idenna?"
"No sir."
"Then I find myself curious as to why you would be contacting me in the middle of a combat action?"
"I... uhh... Merely wanted to wish you luck sir."
"Roger that general, but do try to keep the channels clear unless its a real emergency."
"Aye aye sir. Bakura out."

The general walked from the holoviewer and reseated himself into his command chair with a puzzled look on his face.

"Did he give you orders sir?"
"I... believe we are weapons free."
"You believe sir?"
"He was... less then clear on that point."
"What do you want us to do sir?"
"Your jobs. All craft move in and engage. If they are worthy imperials they will need to prove it first. A weak Empire is no empire for us!"

A hail erupted from the small make-shift command center as the fleet burst to life and swarmed in on the unsuspecting imperials waiting for a warm welcome and light defense.

Please modify your attack post so that your AUX and SFs move to C-15, where they can attack me properly. I know they have the range for it, so I will take the damage... just be sure to modify your post accordingly.

Also yes... C-13 was a typo. All my units moved to C-15.

   "Well then it appears they've given us a heroe's welcome," commented Commodore Hawkins, who was standing by the ComScan Shack. "Lord Hale, all enemy PDF units have mobilized. It appears the bulk of their combat forces were loitering in Middle Orbit."

   "Hmph! Intelligence reports the same PDF positions exist elsewhere on Rebel Alliance-held systems. There is an advantage to putting your units out in the open... but there is also a disadvantage..."

   "Your orders, m'lord?" asked Hawkins. "They are concentrating firepower on the Trident!"

   "Return fire, launch full complements. Let's show these Rebels what this ship was built for."

   As Hale's orders were carried out, the massive flight decks of the Leviathan opened up and immediately dozens upon dozens of starfighters began flooding out of the hangar. Per Hale's instructions, the Leviathan was augmented with two additional starfighter squadrons vice carrying extra shuttles. He hoped to take advantage of it.

   "Move the fleet forward and begin surface scanning of Bakura. Also, I want those Escort Carriers out of the frying pan, so position them back in Deep Space," ordered Hale calmly. "As soon as they are in position I want the Harpoon out of here. Tell Captain Johannesburg to proceed to the next waypoint."

   "But sir, that'll leave the Trident unprotected... they could be moving to capture it! Even a refitted Escort Carrier would be dangerous in the hands of Ramano."

   "It's a risk we'll have to take, Commodore. What matters is our plan..."

   Hale stood up from his command chair and walked over to the viewport to witness the overwhelming firepower that was about to be displayed...

General Drake watched as the imperials demonstrated their might, in a single volly bringing down the Idenna. A smile crossed his face as he realized the Empire perhaps did still have a spark left in it, but he was not yet convinced.

"Look at they're support ships. They've brought no landing craft."
"Seems as if he plans on using the ships themselves to do the dirty work sir."
"And it shall be his downfall. Order all craft to concentrate fire on the smaller transport ships. If we can knock those out he will be far outmatched when he reaches the planet with the Venator."
"A sound plan sir, but perhaps we should be taking precautions in case the worst should happen?"

The general quickly turned, glaring at his subordinate.

"If the Empire conquers our defenses, then they are again worthy of leading us to greatness. In such an event we will welcome our imperial brothers with open arms. But as you were trained, a weak empire is unworthy of leadership. They must demonstrate their strength if they wish to lead us once again."

   As the battle raged on, Leviathan Squadron was bearing witness to a strategically weakened yet still tactically strong defense force that had managed to pick the right targets in their initial waves of attacks. The strength of the Ventator-class was not in the power the ship itself wielded, but the power in the ships of its support fleet.. or at least that's what Hale had intended the defenses to think. For once the Rebel forces would get a taste of their own usage of misdirection.

   "My lord, they've targeted the Espada, and it has been swiftly disabled," commented Commodore Hawkins.

   "How unfortunate timing. It appears we'll have to accelerate our plans. Destroy the Idenna, Commodore."

   "Yes my lord," replied Hawkins.

   Immediately, the fleet's firepower once again opened up on the Idenna, only this time, the green bolts of turbocharged particles and proton bombs began ripping and incinerating the actual ship itself - tearing into its hull. As sections of the Venator began breaking away and bodies of fleet sailors floating off into the icey vacuum of space, the last moments of the crew were met with a sudden rupture of the main power core, resulting in a small anti-matter implosion followed by an even larger fusion explosion. There was silence onboard the Leviathan's bridge as the ship went down. After the boatswain's mate blew a final whistle for the Idenna, the crew went back to work.

   "It's a shame that ship fell into Rebel hands. She would've made a fine addition to the Imperial Fleet," commented Hale. "Are there any survivors?"

   ComScan began short-wave scans, "faint life signs my lord, probably in the more rigid compartments that were sealed off. Emergency life support should sustain them long enough for the enemy to rescue them. Maybe a few dozen or so."

   "At last, the Avenger is avenged," Hale opened up a line of communication with the system:

   < Attention, loyal Imperial citizens of Bakura: We regret to inform you that our time here has come to an end... for now. Our presence in this system was just a demonstration of our power, and as you can see, there is only one Star Destroyer in orbit where two once stood. To the Rebels who so bravely fought today: We may return to this sytem, we may not, or we may pay a visit to Endor, or Bespin as well. If we can take down your precious Idenna, how safe are your Mon Calamari cruisers? Or the Destiny's Ascenion itself? One by one we will come for them... like thieves in the night, like the Mandalorian big game hunters of the Dxun wildlands... one by one they will fall... until there is nothing left but an empty promise of strength and security. Welcome to a brave new galaxy. Winter is coming my friends... >

   "Alright Commodore, dispatch final orders to the Espada and Trident... and to the rest of the Fleet."

   Commodore Hawkins nodded and pushed a red button, which sent off a set of orders Hale wrote before the battle in case emergency contingencies occured. Now was that time. Hale's orders would gaurantee this. Without delay, crews began placing charges around the ships they were serving on and scuttled them. After the escape pods were collected one by one by the Leviathan, the victorious Star Destroyer and the Sturmgewehr lept into hyperspace. The starfighters and shuttles that remained in the system would continue the fight until their last breath - a honor many zealous TIE pilots longed for.

   The lead TIE Interceptor pilot opened up a comm line: < Men of the Imperial Remnant. Your sacrifices will be honored and paid back in full when order is restored to the galaxy. Now let's give these Rebels some hell! >

IR units are magically transported to Hoth, where they are recombined into IR forces. Bakura's PDF is restored to a stock level, and conflict is cleared so that pending constructions ordered by Ramano can be completed and arrive for future defensive purposes.

   With the voyage in hyperspace nearing its terminus, Hale was summoned to the bridge. Suspecting fresh defensive fortifications to be in place, Hale decided it was best to get the jump on the enemy by exiting hyperspace in High Orbit before moving in. In doing so, he hoped the Punisher would be able to lay down some firepower and blaze a path to the planet's surface, as this mission was strictly about utilizing his Star Destroyer's 1st Regiment to invade and occupy the surface-based command and control facilities.

   As the fleet eventually did exit hyperspace, immediately weapons, shields, and sensors came online in quick succession - getting the Punisher up to fighting shape. As the sensor data came in, the holes and dents made in Bakura's defenses the last time Hale was here had clearly been filled with an array of Starfighter Platforms and a new Golan Platform.

   "ALL HANDS, BATTLESTATIONS!"

   "Lord Hale, I show a full fleet of Corvettes in scattered positions around the system. One of them is dead ahead!"

   "Set course 002 Mark 030, flank speed! Let's light'em up! Fire at will!" ordered Hale. "The Harpoon will be running point defense, so I want our TIEs and Shuttles out there ahead of us to screen incoming targets. Let's make this quick gentlemen, or we're going to have Headhunters breathing down our neck before its time for breakfast. It's punishment time!" As Hale's orders echoed through the bridge, the crew and the ship came to life as green and blue energy bolts began dashing towards their targets and the scream of TIEs and Lambda shuttles began filling the void of space with weapons fire.

   In the event that a retreat would become a necessity, Hale knew it would only slow him down from reclaiming Bakura - not preventing it - as the new base on Hoth would allow him to continue to funnel material and resources into Rebel Alliance space until it could no longer afford to continue fighting. The inevitable War of Attrition had already begun, and the Imperial Remnant would win...

REBAL ALLIANCE BAKURA DEFENSE FORCE

   Suspecting that the Imperial Remnant would inevitably return, the bolstered defenses of the Rebel Defense Fleet had arrayed their Corvettes in such a pattern to allow for a full 360-degree coverage in the event any probe droids or attacks would occur. While this prevented the defenses from being concentrated to a single point, it did allow maximum response to any vector of assault and bought time for the platforms and ground-based starfighters to launch and mobilize. As the red alert signal went out and the military distress signal transmitted, the RDF Commander hoped that the Rebel Fleet at Thyferra would respond, although he knew controlling the flow of bacta was more important than some wayward ex-Imperial system...

   As the battle opened up to a full rage, the incoming Rebel starfighters began zooming in with full intensity, as already the TIE Interceptors assigned to safeguard the fleet were being matched 1:1. Hale's decision to split up his attacks as much as possible in the opening phases of combat paid off, for now he could concentrate his firepower on removing the starfighter threat that laid before him.

   "Concentrate all firepower on those starfighters and send in the TIE Advanceds against the Golan. We can play these skermish games all day long if we need to."

   "Right away m'lord. Dispatching orders and target coordinates now."

   As the TIE Advanceds moved away from the main fleet to perform their attack runs, the TIE Interceptors continued to perform evasive manuevers to keep the enemy starfighters occupied and within range of the Punisher's weapons. While the ISD's weapons were only scoring hits with 60% accuracy, each hit was enough to punch a handful of squadrons in the face, while the shuttles came in to do the real dogfighting. Hale couldn't help but feel energized from the combat, as he was pacing around the bridge and looking over everyone's watchstation to maintain complete tactical control of the situation.

   "Flank speed, helm. I want us in lower orbit as soon as possible. Also, inform the docking bay to begin full-scale launch, I will be joining the ground assault with General Crassus."

   "Very well my lord."

   As Hale departed the bridge, his executive officer Admiral Hawkins assumed command of the ship. While the attacks against the enemy starfighters were going well, the big threat of the Golan Platform still remained - and so there was still a great deal of work to be done in space before the system could be secured, although Hale hoped that by beginning a ground invasion mid-battle he could capture Bakura's capitol before destroying the Golan.

   Stepping into the turbolift, Jana was there waiting for Hale. Pushing the button for the launch bay, the turbolift doors closed and the two stood silent for a brief moment.

   "Going somewhere sailor?" asked Jana flirtatiously.

   "Oh, I don't know. I'm playing soldier today."

   "Well then, I suppose I'll join you. It's about time I broke my new lightsaber in," replied Jana, who was beginning to feel the adrenaline jitters of pre-combat.

   "There's definitely going to be plenty of fight down there. Numerically speaking, the defense forces pose a challenge, but General Crassus assures me that the 1st Regiment's training and advanced gear should be more than enough to overcome the Rebels."

   "Good. It's about time we destroyed these Rebels. I can feel the Dark Side swelling inside of me already. It is giving me focus... courage... power."

   Hale looked away for a moment. He still hadn't made up his mind regarding Jana's conversion to the Dark Side, but yet he was enjoying her new outlook on life, her passions, and her energy that she brought with her wherever she went. As the turbolift came to a stop and the door opened, Hale and Jana walked out and boarded the Aletheia, which soon launched from the docking bay with the other Landing Barges - all of which entered the atmosphere...

   "Admiral Hawkins, shields are down! One more big hit like that and we'll need to evacuate!"

   The Admiral looked a little nervous, but he decided to stick to the plan. "Return fire against all targets, maintain lower orbital position over... sector 3. We need to keep our distance from that Golan at all times if this operation is to go off without a hitch."

   "Right away, Admiral!"

   "Is the Supreme Executor on the surface yet?"

   "Yes, all units are checking in now..."

Meanwhile, on the surface in G-4...

   The sparse ground defenses of Bakura were concentrated in the Eastern hemisphere leaving the pro-Imperial cities to the West. This gave Hale and his troops the opportunity to land on the surface without risking the Landing Barges, and setup the battlefield for a long march into the Rebel-held capitol.

   After the Landing Barges had touched ground, the thousands of Imperial Army Troops of the 1st Regiment of the Imperial Remnant assembled into ranks until they formed phalanxes and began marching a long distance until crossing over into the northeastern hemisphere and approached the Capitol.

   "General Crassus, we have the enemy outnumbered and outclassed. When do you want to begin the attack?"

   "No time like the present, my lord..."

   Hale put on his advanced battlearmor helmet and cocked his weapons. "General, I like your style."

   "I believe that's why you hired me, my lord."

   "Indeed. I will be on the front lines General. Jana and I will secure the Governor."

   "Right away my lord," the General then turned to his lieutenants, "Major Grayson, let's move out!"

   The 1st Regiment, led by General Crassus, moved into the Capitol region and began attacking the Rebel HQ!

   The hull of the Punisher rocked as the last of the Rebel small craft and corvettes swooped in for a last ditch attack run. This had unfortunately unsettled Admiral Hawkins and the bridge crew onboard the ship.

   "Comm, patch me a line to the Supreme Executor."

   The communications officer pushed a few buttons and gave the go ahead nod.

   < Lord Hale, I'm afraid we must evacuate. Armor integrity has dropped to 14%. If we stay, we'll risk getting the ship disabled and potentially destroyed. Please advise. >

Meanwhile, on the surface in G-1...

   An Imperial Army Trooper sergeant wearing a communications pack reached for the phone attached to it. By now Hale and the 1st Regiment had broken into the Bakuran command center and had cornered General Drake - the leader of the Rebel Defense Force. The Sergeant urged Hale to answer.

   "Dammit, can this wait Sergeant?"

   "I'm afraid not my lord, it's from Admiral Hawkins..."

   "Alright," Hale took the phone and began listening to Hawkins, nodding away. "I understand Admiral... proceed with our discussed contingency plan." Hale gave the phone back to the Sergeant.

   "What's the news, Lucidius?" asked Jana.

   "It looks like we're going to be here for a while. I'm sending the Punisher back to Hoth for a quick round trip so it can recharge shields in hyperspace and get back into the fight. Hopefully our support craft will be able to finish the job in space... not that General Drake knows that, since his comms are busted."

   "Well, it looks like we're going to have to move forward with Plan A," replied Jana as she ignited her silver-beamed lightsaber, stepping up to the vaulted holdout command chamber General Drake remained in. A squad of Army Troopers of 1st Regiment's SWAT Team lined up across the door as Jana began smelting the door by letting the ultrahot plasma and sheer quantum energy of her lightsaber burn the door until a breach was made. Pulling her saber out, the SWAT team planted a large explosive in the breach and backed away.

   Hale gave a two finger salute and the Team Leader blew the door. Immediately, a trio of flashbangs were fired into the chamber and in quick succession the 10-man team rushed in, blasting away whatever troops were guarding General Drake. Only three men. Hale and Jana then casually walked into the room. General Drake was still there sitting as his desk. The tactical displays and communications panels surrounding him were blacked out with grayscale fuzz. His entire command center was shot to hell.

   "Supreme Executor Hale, it appears the Imperial Remnant has the strength to lead this great system."

   "It's over General. This compound is falling apart. You troops have been killed, and already the 1st Regiment is moving to your southeastern defense compounds. My Star Destroyer is still holding orbit, my tweleve TIE Squadrons which your captains failed to deal with are still screaming, and you have no reinforcements coming from your new leader, Garm Bel Iblis..."

   "What would you have me do Supreme Executor? Hand over the reigns right now?"

   "Yes."

   General Drake bursted out in laughter. "My, my... quite the pretentious one aren't we?" The General then lowered his head and paused for a long moment.

   "General Drake, we can do this the easy way or the hard way..."

   Suddenly Jana seemed very excited, twirling her lightsaber, "...and I would just love the hard way..."

   "Found a Lady of the Sith have we, Supreme Executor?"

   "Oh, she's no Sith Lady... not really a Jedi either. Somewhere in between by my estimates," replied Hale.

   The General laughed again. "Well if you're going to kill me then do it already. I have no use for these games."

   Hale gave the go ahead nod to Jana, who suddenly went from excited to dispassionate. Killing was always a mean business, but Jana's experience in the deed gave her an objective and rational understanding of its effectiveness. In a galaxy filled with gray morality, dealing out death and judgment was a very stark black and white affair. In the case of General Drake, his killing would not be an act of justice... it would be one of punishment. After Jana ignited her lightsaber once more, she held it ready to swing at the General's neck.

   "No wait. I want Hale to do it. Man to man. Leader to leader. You pull the trigger."

   Hale withdrew an archaic weapon from his holster he called the Slugger. It was a crude, sawed-off, double-barreled shotgun that fired a dozen or so large bellets. After aiming Slugger at the General's chest, Hale pulled the trigger without hesitation. Immediately the blast ripped the General apart and sent the remains of his body sprawled to the back end of the chamber.

   Soon after Hale did the dirty deed. A secret door within the chamber slid open. Revealing the REAL General Drake, who walked out, slow-clapping his hands.

   "Thank you Supreme Executor, for demonstrating your iron will in this conflict. You have my resignation as General of the Rebel Alliance, as well as orders to all defense units to stand down."

   It would have seemed Hale's idea to go after the snake's head had paid off after all - as he knew any officers that were selected, trained, and indoctrinated by the nefarious Ramano would inevitably bow to a stronger power rather than needlessly drag out a conflict.

   "Sergeant, I want confirmation immediately from Admiral Hawkins," ordered Hale. "And tell him to keep the Punisher in orbit..."

   The Sergeant responded and got on the line with Hawkins, who was verifying everything.

   "Well then, General Drake, please allow my man to verify that your orders are going through. In the meantime, please understand that you're now under arrest. I never kill a man who didn't ask for it, didn't deserve it, or didn't have it coming. Besides, your more valuable to me alive than dead..."

   The real General Drake nodded and was soon taken away by the 1st Regiment SWAT Team, leaving Hale and Jana alone in the secret hideaway where Drake was monitoring everything. Jana deactivated her lightsaber, holstered it, and began looking around.

   "What have we got here? A bottle of Chandrilan Champagne," announced Jana. "A good vintage too..."

REBEL ALLIANCE BAKURA DEFENSE FORCE

   With the destruction of the central command center on the ground, in addition to the stalemated position in the space arena, the leader of the Rebel Alliance Defense - General Drake - agreed to terms of conditional surrender discussed with Supreme Executor Hale. All hyperdrive-equipped Rebel units immediately left the system, while the platforms were contracted out to a private company to have them transported to other Rebel systems still under control. The ground facilities were also stripped down, packed up, and transported off-world to find a home elsewhere. Although this would make the next assault on a Rebel system that much more painful, it was a price the Imperial Remnant was willing to pay in order to reclaim Bakura once and for all. Meanwhile, the pro-Imperial citizens of Bakura celebrated and began assisting Imperial Remnant forces in their transition to establish offices of government on the system. Political amnesty was awarded to all Rebel-sympathizers, although many protests erupted across several big cities - many of which were spearheaded by armed militias. These were in time put down by the ISD Punisher's 1st Regiment, which had effectively transitioned from a warfighting mission to a peacekeeping/counter-insurgency mission. In time, the system would once again call itself Imperial...but for now, it was still very much Rebel.

   It had been a week since the cease fire began and already the wave of Imperialism was spreading to every city on the planet. While under the Rebel Alliance, the Bakuran citizens accepted the Rebel government, but day to day life didn't really change from how things were while the Galactic Empire was in control. Now that the Bakuran government would be answering to the Imperial Remnant, a new government charter was drafted and ratified while the general public held democratic caucasus to give the Imperial Remnant a list of 3 candidates from which Hale would select Bakura's new governor. It was a very complicated process, but Hale insisted that in the days and weeks following an invasion it was best to give the people a role in the process to select their own Governor.

   The crew and troops onboard the ISD Punisher were also enjoying rotating shore leave breaks, as Bakura's civilized pleasures allowed many in the 1st IEF to indulge in their various vices. In the Outer Rim, many of the hardline laws the Empire maintained were much more lax compared to the Core Worlds. Exotic dance clubs featuring alien women from around the galaxy were commonplace, along with illegal gambling establishments and libations smuggled from the finest breweries and wineries. Needless to say, business was good, and the Imperial Remnant's taxing hand made sure it got its cut in everything - all the more reason why the laws were so lax. Corruption was therefore a necessity if a high quality of life was to be assured.

   Hale was able to get out and enjoy himself and visit some of Bakura's 5-star restaurants with Jana, who herself was a food snob, although most of his time was spent focusing on establishing the interim government and surveying a location for the new Imperial Sector Palace that was to be built. It was truly an exciting time to be in the Imperial Remnant, although the satisfying season of victory would no doubt turn into one of strategy and planning again, for the threat of the Rebel Alliance was still a clear and present danger that would need to be resolved... but at least for today, life was good...

   With the Imperial Sector Palace finally completed, the Mission to Bakura had finally come to a close and was deemed a complete success. The ISD Punisher turned over its formal protection duties to a small fleet of Imperial Patrol Vessels, as Inter-Imperial HOLONET message traffic was bustling with urgent news. The time had finally come to destroy the Rebel Alliance, and so the ISD Punisher and ESC Harpoon entered hyperspace for Hoth to rendezvous with the Imperial fleet before making final assault preparations.


ACTION SUMMARY
1. Milestone #4 COMPLETE. Mission accomplished!
2. (7) IPV-1s exit hyperspace and take up PDF positions.
3. All units recalled and fleet enters hyperspace for Hoth.

  The ISDs Serpentor and Audacity emerged from hyperspace with their disabled prize in tow at the very nearby star system of Bakura, yet another recent acquisition of the viral conquests of the Imperial Remnant under Supreme Executor Lucidius Hale's ambitious direction.  Trudging deep in towards the primary planet, a swarm of local Remnant patrol craft and tugs met up with the lumbering warships.  Taking control of their load, dozens of tiny tug ship's gingerly drug and pushed the disabled Calamari cruiser Freedom closer to Bakura where a number of small craft took up guarding patrol positions about the captured vessel.  The star destroyers themselves began a gentle coordinated come about and prepared to return to Endor. . .

  Aboard the Freedom. . .

    The ship's captain nervously awaited what development might come next.  A Calamari native, he'd always questioned his decisions to abandon the New Republic at Dac in service of the more. . .aggressive splinter Rebel Alliance forces.  A few months ago, on the momentum of success against the crippled residual Empire, it had seemed to subside and hadn't bothered him much.  But since their Commander Ramano's surprising departure, the dam broke loose and his doubts ran amok in his thoughts.  The doubts were proven when the probes first emerged at Endor, and galvanized as a fools play as his ship, the most powerful in the Rebel Allliance fleet, sat disabled and defenseless, Imperial equipment zipping about and now their caretakers.  Standing aboard the Freedom's bridge as the somber mood of defeat had well sunk in to much of the crew, he paced about with his hands clasped behind his back and head lowered, occasionally stopping to glance out in to space at the lush world of Bakura they were pulled in to orbit of.  Not long ago, he looked upon the teeming planet with pride as they'd been a loyal supporter of the Alliance.  Like much of the seeming safety of the world around him however, that facade all came crashing down with Ramano's treacherous abandonment.  Bakura was now growing stronger beaneath the banner of the Remnant with every day. . .
