FLASHPOINT GM-NPC POST
Mandalorian Liberation Army
The MLA Fleet crept slowly towards the Imperial Base Forces, this time with deathly intent to destroy them. The leader behind the MLA operation was a man named Mao'lo, the self-proclaimed "Supreme General of the Liberation" and "Chairman of the Mandalorian Socialist Party", who sought to bring the banner of the MLA to other worlds in order to free them from Imperial oppression and democracy-toting Rebels. Mao'lo was a young man, but an experienced and hard one as well, as he had seen all too well the failures of government and the weakness of leadership too many times throughout history. He figured if the MLA was going to succeed, then military power alone could not avail them, rather the power of the people would become their true strength. Mao'lo likened the power of Socialism to the power of water: one drop was innocent and harmless, but over time the drop could become a bucket, as a bucket suitable for washing, and as the water increased it would eventually become like a wild river going where it wants, and lastly the water would become an ocean that was mighty and powerful, and capable of directing the tides of the entire galaxy. Right now, he saw the MLA as the wild river, but Mao'lo knew he needed a military victory to attract more people outside of Mandalore to his cause. This was ultimately why he decided on selecting Yavin IV as a target - because he knew ANY victory, no matter how big or small, would give the MLA politcal credibility.
<>
"Engage all Imperial units! Their oppression has come to an end!" shouted Mao'lo, who often entered a quasi-enraged state during battle. "Yavin IV is now under direct control of the Mandalorian Liberation Army, prepare to be destroyed!" Upon that statement, the MLA Fleet opened fire on the Golan Platform Yavin Defender, firing all weapons at it. Meanwhile, small craft onboard the Mandalore began flooding the space around the fleet, with (3) TIE Fighter Squadrons forming into a TIE Swarm and entering Combat Space Patrol, while (5) StarViper Squadrons and (30) Firespray Patrol Ships moved to A-1 to engage more targets...

Imperial Base Forces
The Imperial Defenses scrambled to hold the line in the face of the Mandalorian Warpath, but Captain Brakis knew all too well from his Academy training the power of the Venator-class Star Destroyer, a ship class he served aboard as a young Imperial officer many years ago. From the command chair onboard the Golan Yavin Defender he felt the violent impacts of the enemy lasers, with minor explosions inside the platform breaking out all over, as well as pocket fires. The platform wasn't going to hold under this much firepower, and he knew it, but as the enemy shots were raining down upon him, he gave orders to fire back and launch all craft and to engage the MLA as much as possible. Meanwhile, as the trio of IPV-1s were delt some ion damage, the Wall, which was the only one not stunned concentrated its fire on the Mandalore, hoping to bring it down. Amidst the chaos, TIE/x1 Squad BLACK lept from the Atmosphere and joined the fight.

FLASHPOINT GM-NPC POST
Flashpoint Recap
The MLA Fleet had caused severe damage during it's initial strike on the Imperial Base Forces of Yavin IV, having knocked out the sole Golan Defense Platform protecting the planet. Now it seemed the planet was ripe for conquest, as the Golan was the first and biggest defense against attack. Of course, Golans were formidable targets, packed with enough armor and firepower to take on light craft and small sized fleets, but the MLA Fleet was more than the Yavin Protector could handle. Thus, the MLA Fleet fancied itself in a prime position, as they knew the earliest response would be long after they had their time to wipe away the space defenses.

Mandalorian Liberation Army
Mao'lo smiled in his battlerage. He knew from the command chair of the VNSD Mandalore that he was commanding one of the most powerful assault fleets in the galaxy, strong enough to attack any target. In Mandalorian warrior style, Mao'lo also figured it didn't matter if he was to be outgunned or destroyed in this engagement, as he would prefer to die in battle with honor standing on his feet, fighting for his cause, then to be back home on Mandalore living on his knees.
"HAHAHAHAH!!" laughed Mao'lo, who was happy to see the destruction before him. He didn't even pay any attention to the incoming damage he had received, for his mind was on the next phase of the attack: the ground assault. Unfortunately, the MLA Fleet had no dropships to speak of, so Mao'lo reasoned he would have to take the risk of doing an orbital drop on the planet in order to bring the Empire down.
"Move in and continue destroy the Imperial forces!" ordered Mao'lo, and at that time the MLA Fleet continued firing on various targets while small craft and starfighters attacked as well.

Imperial Base Forces
Captain Brakis paced around the command bridge onboard the Golan Yavin Protector, wondering why the Mandalorians didnt finish him off - then it hit him: the MLA was going straight for the Depot planetside. There was no other reason why they wouldn't move in closer, because if it was just a raid, they would have been packing up their bags by now. Regardless of what the MLA was trying to do, Brakis saw the rest of the defenses crumble around him, so he ordered for all personnel to abandon ship and eject escape pods planetside, where hopefully the crew could aid in the defense of the coming ground battle. The remainder of the Yavin space defenses tried to squeeze out what little damage they could do in the face of lethal firepower.

Flashpoint Recap
The MLA Fleet has all but secured its victory in space. The Imperial Base Forces managed to muster a defense, but it was unable to hold the line against the Mandalorian Warpath! Now the MLA Fleet is at a key strategical crossroads...
<> <> <>
Mandalorian Liberation Army
As the space battle was winding down, Mao'lo met with his operational advisors onboard the Mandalore's bridge. At this point, Mao'lo's classic battle-rage had subsided for now, so he was in a position to make an appeal to reason in order to plan the next phase of his invasion. His staff reasoned that by now, at least according to their calculations, that a response force would be arriving soon, which meant that by entering the atmosphere to begin the ground assault they would be putting the fleet at risk.
Mao'lo had to ask himself a question now though: what was the purpose of this invasion? Was it to make a space strike and run, or was it to risk it all... hoping to plant the MLA flag victoriously on the planets surface? For any Mandalorian warrior though, this question had an easy answer...
"Prepare the fleet for ground assault. I want everything down there," ordered Mao'lo. "Any objections?"
"General, according to our intelligence, the Yavin Base Forces have a meager amount of ground support for defenses... no match for our Mandalorian Soldiers and Basiliks. Might I suggest we deploy our Bulk Cruisers to the ground first? Meanwhile, the Mandalore can remain in space to stave off any response attacks."
Mao'lo nodded in agreement, but with reservation. "Your logic is sound, we will split the fleet. But it will not be the Bulk Cruisers that deploy, but rather the Mandalore herself. I will personally lead the ground invasion! The Bulk Cruisers and starfighters can remain topside while I secure victory below!"
The staff agreed. The plan actually made more sense. Collectively speaking, the Bulk Cruisers would be able to sustain enemy attacks more so than the Mandalore would be as an individual vessel. Considering the possible response forces would no doubt target the Mandalore specifically because it was the command ship, removing it from the crosshairs would mitigate risk. Additionally, the Mandalore had sufficient units to handle an invasion all by itself, of course, Mao'lo's need for combat firsthand was not withstanding...
As the orders went out, the fleet maneuvered appropriately. The Bulk Cruisers and starfighters held their position while the Mandalore entered the atmosphere alone, though not before firing on the Yavin Protector one more time for good measure as a final taunt to the ground defenses, seeking to destroy the station. The Bulk Cruisers and small craft then turned their attention on the last two IPVs facing them...

OOC Note: -yawns waking up from his 4 day nap- lol
With a flash the small republic fleet slipped from its confines of HS quietly into the system. (CSD) Quickly all shields were raised and weapons powered.
"Hold position here, passive scans only, lets not make ourselves known quite yet."
"If I may ask sir, what exactly are your intentions here?"
"The people on that planet are my only concern. Our war aside the mandalorians are a threat we can all appreciate. And perhaps if we can successfully defend the citizens of the planets colonies we can sway some favor away from the empires side. Win their hearts and their minds will follow so to speak."
"And if the imperials dont come running to ask for our assistance?"
"Then we kill as many as we can on our way out. For now I just want us holding position. Make sure the mandalorians cant escape. If the imperials figure out we are here, keep a quick escape route open."
"Aye aye sir."

[^] AVENGER SQUADRON [^]
1st IMPERIAL EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
PRIMUS ET OPTIMUS ~ THE FIRST AND THE FINEST
Commanding Officer: LCDR Lucidius Hale
*
It was a day Hale had longed for - to lead a fleet of Imperial warships into battle. During the long hyperspace journey, he and his staff had carefully planned their entrance. Fortunately, they weren't going into battle blind because scans were transmitted along with the distress signal, which gave them time to plot exactly where they wanted to exit hyperspace. Unfortunately, the scans were days old and could have been rendered useless by now, but that didn't allow for at least some strategy to be planned. In addition to Hale's own estimations of how the battle could have played out, dozens of computer simulations were ran. Every scenario predicted the MLA Fleet as completely breaking the space defenses, which meant help was needed immediately and in powerful way - but what kind of help, and where?
These were the questions Hale and his staff discussed. If they exited hyperspace in the same vector as the MLA, they could hope to attack immediately, but if not, then a more forward and safer route could be taken. Hale decided it was best not to enter battle with guns blazing, so the more prudent approach was taken...
"Captain sir, we'll be exiting hyperspace in 2 minutes outside the system. Request location," asked the helm.
"Helm, I want us exiting hyperspace nice and close to the system, we're going to be creeping into this battle with eyes wide open," ordered Hale. "Position 345 mark 315, vector B8."
"Vector B8, aye sir," replied the helmsman with a repeat back. "Standby." At that, the helm's workstation began flashing a blue light, with a small red meter filing up quickly. On this meter was a hyperspace distance scale. Towards the beginning of the meter would have equated to a deep space exit, the end of the meter equated to an orbital exit, for which Avenger Squadron was going for.
*
The vibrant white-gray-blue-black swirls that were seen in hyperspace reverted to normalspace, with a black backdrop that was the space of the universe, littered with stars - and the planet Yavin IV. The three Imperial warships sat silently for a moment, standing tall as shields were raised and all other ship systems brought online for combat operations. Per pre-discussed plans, a trio of TIE Fighter squadrons were launched from the various ships, and they formed into a tightly packed swarm...circling around the ships in defensive formation. At that point, active scanning commenced immediately, revealing the location of all enemy units.
"Sir, ComScan data coming in now... oh no... it's all gone sir. All of it," said the XO.
Hale sighed, but that was expected. "Is there anything?"
"Yes sir, getting some faint returns from two IPVs. They appear to be disabled and tractored. All forces on the ground are reporting in. They know we're here now."
"Good. Let's sit tight for now and see what happens. We need to charge up our engines anyway," said Hale.
"Very well sir," replied the XO.

Public Service Annoucement regarding Combat Space Patrols:
Unlike previous sims where CSP was limited to units covering units, GCW has units covering areas. As per the rules: Starfighters can enter into a protective formation scheme to guard friendly units, called Combat Space Patrol. Starfighters on CSP must designate and protect an entire grid space, and cannot perform any aggressive actions that round.
Thank you.

FLASHPOINT GM-NPC POST
Flashpoint Recap
The arrival of both Imperial and Alliance task forces has the Mandalorians back on edge, though concerned about their presence, their overall mission is still a top priority: destroy the Yavin Base!
RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE! (a quick note on ground combat): Facilities and Landed Capital Ships are UCR10 when being attacked by ground units (not UCR1 as listed in the battle calc). For damage dealing, Infantry vs Facilities will use their vs Infantry attack ratings.

Mandalorian Liberation Army
From the ground looking up, the menacing visage of the VNSD Mandalore got bigger and bigger until it became absolutely certain to the ground forces below: the Mandalorians were making a landing. The Clone Wars saw an impressive display in troop logistics, as it was ultimately and arguably the ground assault capabilities of the Acclamator-class and Venator-class that helped win that war the most -- NOT the space assault capabilities. Regardless, these classes of ships were still effective today, and Mao'lo was going to capitalize on it. Why fix something if it wasn't broke? Despite this sound logic though, the Tarkin Doctrine made better sense - it was simply too risky to commit to planetary landings anymore, which was exactly why dropships were introduced with the Victory-class Star Destroyer, enabling it to have both a space and a ground presence, or if need be, simply drop troops and go.
A general broadcast message was sent out: < Attention all Imperial forces...Prepare for battle! > from the VNSD Mandalore, as General Mao'lo sought to taunt his enemies. His strategists calculated a swift victory for their forces, as ultimately their 5000 strong ground force would completely overrun the some 1000 strong Imperial force. However, a tactical blunder might have been made, in that orbital bombardment could have been initiated long ago by the Mandalorians in order to soften up the Imperials, but Mao'lo's thirst for man-to-man combat had to be satiated. He wanted fresh troops to fight, not bruised ones.
As the VNSD Mandalore touched down on the surface (G-1), its huge loading ramps lowered, revealing a tightly packed and racked contingent of troops who began marching away. Their footsteps were ringing in unison, echoing through the jungles of Yavin IV. The Mandalorian Warriors and Paramilitary troopers mustered in perfect formation awaiting their beloved General...who took a step on Yavin's terra firma, ready to deliver a speech...
"Mandalorians! Soldiers! COMRADES!!" shouted Mao'lo, who was met with a roar from his troops. "My brothers, we are here today not because I led you, but because we all share the same STRUGGLE against those who oppress us! - AND THEY DARE TO OPPOSE US!! From this day forward, we will paint the future in blood! For it will be our blood that will be shed today which will liberate the galaxy!! From this day forward, all shall know that we are the MANDALORIAN LIBERATION ARMY!!!" As the troops cheered and roared, Mao'lo stepped aboard his command skiff and hovered past all his troops, performing a standard 'sieg heil' salute as was customary with socialistas.
As soon as the pomp and circumstance was done though, the troops broke into squads and began moving towards the Imperial Fleet Depot, ready for action. The initial skirmishes were met in the jungles themselves, as the MLA encountered the evacuated personnel from the Golan platform. As these troops were overrun, the rest of the MLA kept pushing forward to the Depot itself, initiating a literal hellstorm of small arms blaster fire. It would take some time to bring the Depot down, but it would not be long...

Imperial Base Forces
The Imperial Ground Forces were slightly overrun, but they would soon prove to the MLA that they were dealing with trained warfighting professionals, not sloppy paramilitary troopers. The Fleet Troops from the Yavin Protector fought back vehemently in the jungle, being able to take down many enemy combatants before finally getting gunned down. As other MLA troops squared off against the Depot, their small arms fire was proving to be effective, as it would seem a death by a thousand needles was becoming all too real. Regardless, siege holes opened up and the Stormtroopers waiting inside began returning fire and picking off Mandalorians left and right. It was a literal turkey shoot, as the Stormtrooper's garrisoned position afforded them a supreme tactical position.
Amidst the chaos, 5 AT-ATs could be heard approaching from the rear side of the Depot, and for once fear could be seen in the Mandalorians. Facing off against troops holed up in a compound was one thing, facing off against AT-ATs was another. As the AT-ATs approached the main battlefield, they began trampling over enemy soldiers... but it soon became clear what they were going for... the VNSD Mandalore itself!
The Imperial Base commanders reasoned that by sending the AT-ATs against the mothership, they could force a retreat, effectively winning the day. It was a risk proposition, as the last scans of the Mandalore had it operating in good standing, which meant that it could take some time to effectually damage the ship, but it was a risk the Imperials were willing to take, and a risk they hoped to be rewarded from!

"As was expected. Move us to grid 3, continue blocking off any exit to the mandalorians. Hold radio silence unless the imperials decide to acknowledge we are here, they gotta know by now."
"And if they do?"
"Open a channel, tell them we are here to offer assistance and come get me immediately. I'll be in my ready room until the situation changes. Keep an ear open on the imperial comm channels, if they sound like they are getting beaten too badly we may not have time to wait for their approval."

1st IMPERIAL EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
PRIMUS ET OPTIMUS ~ THE FIRST AND THE FINEST
Commanding Officer: LCDR Lucidius Hale
*
"Sir, the Bob task force has exited hyperspace, bearing 060 mark 120, sector B2," remarked a young ComScan officer.
"Excellent, I was beginning to wonder if we were the only ones going to show up. Let's go ahead and kick things into gear. Tactical officer, I want an update immediately," ordered Hale.
The tac-O replied, "yes sir, we are communicating with the ground forces right now. Sir they are outnumbered 5 to 1, but the AT-ATs are holding the line, as they have moved against the VNSD Mandalore..."
"Well played. They're going to scare it back into space..." pondered Hale.
"That's the idea sir. And we'll be ready for them. The Mandalorians apparently kept all of their Basilisks stowed away in their bulk cruisers, which means the AT-ATs below will definitely hold the line. It's unlikely we'll need to render any direct assistance, unless the situation gets much worse."
"Excellent. So the Mandalore is stuck. Damned if it stays on the ground, damned if it enters space. What are the odds the MLA Fleet are going to pull out and run?"
"Unlikely sir, running away is the same as defeat. In true Mandalorian fashion they'd probably rather die on the battlefield."
"Very well," Hale paused for a moment. His next few orders would make the difference in this battle as he was in prime position to push his fleet into the fray. "Alright, we didn't come here to spectate. Let's move in and keep it tight. Warships aren't made to look pretty and polished, so let's get some scraps and dents gentlemen," pandered Hale, obviously trying to show everyone he was confident to enter battle.
The Chandrila, the Warhawk and the Highlander engaged their sublight drives and pushed forward, entering Yavin's lower orbit. From this key tactical position, they'd be able to engage the MLA Fleet and intercept the Mandalore if it decided to make a run for it, which everyone hoped it would. Taking out the MLA command ship would certainly turn the tides.
"Alright gentlemen, let's triage the threats here: enemy starfighters are the top target, those StarVipers are nasty, so we need to take them out first. Second is the Mandalore, whether it runs or not. Last are those bulk cruisers. They may have limited firepower but they're a pain in the ass to kill, so let's not waste any time with them unless we have to," reasoned Hale.
"Yes sir," replied the bridge crew.
At that, the strike orders went out: Avenger Squadron began firing on the MLA fighters while the fleet's TIEs hung back to remain on defense. Auxiliary craft were launched and immediately flooded the Atmosphere, attacking the lone StarViper squadron patrolling those skies. Hale decided to keep his TIE Bombers stowed away until a devastating strike package could be delivered. Although Chandrila's upgraded shipyard afforded him the capability to produce Escort Carriers to increase his fleet's starfighter capacity, Hale was limited in his resources and couldn't afford any yet.
"Well done gentlemen, let's keep it simple from here on out."

Jason watched as the imperial forces quickly made for the ground taring into the mandalorian positions. The efficiancy of the attack was a sight to behold indeed.
"Open a channel to that lead battle group."
"Roger sir, channel open."
Com: "Imperial Battle Group, this is Lt Cmdr Jason Starhammer of the New Republic Expeditionary Force Alpha. We have the Mandalorians escape path cut off, happy hunting gentlemen. We stand by to offer any needed assistance with the ground forces. Starhammer out."
"Well that was a bit more cordual then I think they are used to sir."
"Perhaps, but we are in no shape to engage an imperial armada head on, and I want to make sure these mandalorians dont get to continue this crusade. Move us into position to be of assistance, but not so close as we cant get out in a hurry if they decide they dont want us here."

FLASHPOINT GM-NPC POST
Flashpoint Recap
With the Imperial Fleet pressing back on the Mandalorians, their Warpath has effectively been stunted, as their ships at space are being attacked, and their ground units (without proper GAV) support now must stand up to AT-ATs. Do the Mandalorians have a trick up their sleeve? Or will they be destroyed? Though facing defeat in space, their successes on the ground seem to be looking up...into the sky where some possible reinforcements would perhaps swing the tides of war.

Mandalorian Liberation Army
Onboard the NSBC Slayer...
"Captain, the Imperial task force off our bow is moving in!"
"Standby for attack!" replied the CO. The Slayer, along with the other three bulk cruisers flanking it anticipated this response, but Bulk Cruisers were no match for Imperial ships of the line. The ship commanders and other military strategists within the MLA knew an attack on an Imperial base would not be successful without additional reinforcements, but Mao'lo wanted to move immediately after acquiring the Mandalore on the black market. Now, the MLA's haste would be their weakness.
The ship rocked from the incoming fire.
"Captain shields are buckling... shit.. we just lost them!"
"Damage report!" shouted the CO.
"All systems operational. No internal damage. Captain, we won't be able to sustain these attacks much longer!" replied the XO.
"Dammit! We don't have enough firepower either! Concentrate all attacks on that Strike Cruiser, and let's see if we can't pick it off!" As the CO's orders went out, the Slayer and the other MLA Bulk Cruisers returned fire, concentrating it on the Firestorm. The starfighters and aux craft also moved in to attack, hoping to inflict as much damage as possible.
Meanwhile, on the ground...
While the VNSD Mandalore loomed over the battlefield like a proud mountain, five AT-ATs emerged from the Yavin jungles to challenge it. The decision of the Imperial Base commander to deploy the walkers against the Mandalore instead of directly defending the Depot marked a critical turning point in the battle, as the Mandalore now faced incredible danger.
Mao'lo contacted the Mandalore and had it begin lifting off to enter the atmosphere. It had done its job of delivering the troops, now it was needed more in space, where it could perhaps stand up against the Imperials. The decision was also made to bring both the Slayer and the Titan to the surface, so some fresh units could be brought to bare.
The rest of the MLA infantry continued their offensive, hoping to wager all to destroy the Depot...

Imperial Base Forces
"Haha! Look at that fat pig fly!" remarked the Base CO, observing the Mandalore lift off and enter the atmosphere. Clearly his ploy to use the AT-ATs to move against the ship worked, as it was now retreating. Unfortunately, the rest of the Mandalorian infantry was brutalizing the Depot compound as all of this was transpiring.
"Sir! Mandalorians have breached the base! Also, two Bulk Cruisers have entered the atmosphere... they're reinforcements no doubt..."
"Right, send out the evacuation order. Contact the task forces in space, we're going to need immediate ground support. Those AT-ATs will buy us enough time!"
"Yes sir!" replied the XO.
Once the evacuation order got sent out, it was almost too late. The Stormtroopers defending the base fought valiantly, but the sheer numbers of the opposing forces were too much to handle, as they were all gunned down - but not before taking some down with them.
The command staff were the only personnel remaining, as the enlisted staff working on the lower levels of the facility were also killed. The command staff managed to take a hidden underground tunnel and work their way into the Yavin jungles and eventually into some Massassi ruins, where they hoped to wait the battle out and relay any visual intelligence to the space forces above. Though for the most part, it seemed the Imperial ground forces had been beaten...

1st IMPERIAL EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
PRIMUS ET OPTIMUS ~ THE FIRST AND THE FINEST
Commanding Officer: LCDR Lucidius Hale
*
Hale sat calmly in his command chair, monitoring the development of the battle. With the entrance of the Bob task force, the situation got much better, as even though some Rebels offered their assistance, Hale was confident the Imperial forces present had everything under control. Though the ground battle wasn't going so well, Hale remembered one of his Academy professors say 'he who controls the space, controls the ground' when it came to siege assaults. Soon, the MLA Fleet would soon be destroyed and all that would remain would be the shattered helmets of thousands of Mandalorian soldiers in the jungles below.
"Commander Hale, the rest of the squadron has just arrived!" announced the ComScan officer.
"Excellent, have them standby and await orders!" replied Hale, who was now turning his attention to the rest of the MLA forces, who apparently were performing a shift move, as the Mandalore and 2 Bulk Cruisers entered the atmosphere. "So they think they can win this battle on the ground, don't they?" Hale paused for a moment to ponder the MLA's next move. Clearly, they were going to drop Bulk Cruisers to the surface if they faced too much punishment in space, which meant that the ground battle would be where the decisions would be made. Hale nodded to himself in agreement of his assessment of the battle. "Alright, listen up. The Mandalorians seem to be focusing their attention on the ground, which means they're wagering everything to achieve victory down there. Those AT-ATs can buy us some time, but not if they get Basilisks to reinforce their forces."
"So what do we do sir?" asked a young bridge officer.
"Prepare to launch our ground forces by dropship. We need to hold the line in space. I don't want the Mandalore to reach orbit! Target all MLA ships in the atmosphere. Nothing reaches the surface!" ordered Hale.
"Yes sir! Locking all weapons now. Strike packages have been sent to the rest of the fleet... TIE Bombers deploying now..."
Within minutes, green and red laser bolts began streaking through space and into the atmosphere, impacting the MLA Fleet with vengeance. Unfortunately for them, their atmospheric entry limited their maneuverability, making them easy targets for the well-trained enlisted gunners.

FLASHPOINT GM RULING
Because the VNSD Mandalore and the NSBC Titan were DISABLED in the ATMOSPHERE they no longer have sufficient power to overcome the gravitational forces of Yavin IV, and thus, have fallen to the ground and have been totaled. Onboard units and crews survive (and will soon join the ground battle), but the ships are destroyed. The kills will be credited to GCW Hale.

TIE Swarm Static CSP A-1

CLARIFICATION & NOTICE
1. From the rules: TIE Swarms
Capable of being formed when (3) TIE Fighter and/or TIE Interceptor Squadrons are present in the same grid. A swarm makes the (3) units into (1) in order to increase its damage tolerance and intimidation (simply combine armor point values and damage, as if it were one large squad). TIE Swarms follow all normal rules for Starfighter combat and are treated as one unit. Regardless of the type of TIE, the Swarm's UCR is 8.
Essentially, TIE Swarms are "1 big squad", so if 1 TIE Fighter squad has 144 HP and takes that much damage, it blows up. But if a TIE Swarm takes 144 damage, it still is able to function as 3 squads combined. That's one of the benefits of having a TIE Swarm, because it forces the enemy to deal all the damage at once if they want it destroyed (in this case, the damage was dealt by StarVipers - which are badass).
2. XCAL, be sure to check your math for combat calculations. The Firespray Patrol Ships have a UCR of 5, which means your STRKs can do 100% damage (since they also are UCR 5), but DREADs cant. From the rules: Universal Combat Rating: Because units come in different shapes and sizes, or have certain traits which differentiate them from other units, this game relies on a rating system to quantify those qualitative differences in how units combatitively interact with one another. A unit's given UCR value is calculated by adding a its speed + maneuverability. In practice, UCR works like this: damage inflicted upon a unit is multiplied by the UCR quotient between it and its attacker. In any scenario when the attacker's UCR is greater than the defender's, the attacker deals 100% damage (never more).
Example.
Attacker's UCR = 4, Attacker's Raw Damage vs Defender = 500
Defender's UCR = 7
The Raw Damage of 500 is multiplied by (4/7) or 0.571, so in this case the Refined (Total) Damage comes out to be 285.5 which is rounded up (explained below) to 286.
In your case, it would have looked like this:
DREADs have a UCR of 3.
FIRESPRAYs have a UCR of 5.
Your DREAD does 60% damage to the Firesprays because 3/5 = 0.6, so for future reference, use the following formula:
(Attacker UCR / Defender UCR) = Damage Modifier
(Raw Damage x Modifier) = Refined Total Damage
When Attacker's UCR is greater than the Defender's, the Modifier = 1.
-
My bad, I didn't see the Firesprays on the target list so I just threw some numbers up. I'll modify things later. That clears things up for the Swarms though.
-
Yeah unfortunately Greg hasn't been around to "finalize" all those bonus apps yet, so I've been doing everything manually because it makes me feel more old school. =)

FLASHPOINT GM-NPC POST
Flashpoint Recap
Now that the Empire has struck back, the MLA seems to be fighting this battle on two sides of a double-edged sword. On the ground, their army has all but claimed victory, as it seems that a handful of AT-ATs are the only thing standing in the way of total domination on the battlefield. In space however, the MLA fleet has been dealt a critical blow, in that their battle power has been mitigated by the presence of two Imperial task forces. As the battle rages on though, time will tell who the real winners and losers are...
<> <> <>
Mandalorian Liberation Army
In Space...
The MLA fleet tried to push back, having been dealt a serious blow by the Bob task force. Counter-attacks were launched, as once again the 'lead' Strike Cruiser became the primary target, in addition to the Chandrila on the opposing side of space.
In the Atmosphere...
As the mighty MLA command ship ascended into the atmosphere in an attempt to flee the firepower of the AT-ATs below, it was met instead with the firepower of an Imperial task force. Despite being a risky proposition, the Mandalore had to at least try and make it into space, where it could have perhaps survived long enough to perform hyperspace calculations and make a run for it - saving the Mandalorian Warpath for another day, but it would be the end of the line for the Mandalore. In a desperate attempt to fight back, the Mandalore and the Titan were able to get a final round of shots off before succumbing to Imperial firepower...
"Captain, we're taking critical damage!" shouted the deck officer, who was speaking to the 'official' commanding officer of the Mandalore - Captain Kizer, a man given the job by General Mao'lo, as the eccentric MLA leader preferred to have an actual naval officer handle the day-to-day operations of the Mandalore.
"Damage report!"
"Hull breaches on decks... everywhere. We're fucked..." ? As soon as the deck officer finished his report, a fresh Imperial salvo impacted the ship again, this time cracking the ship's armor and incinerating the insides of the vessel. The damage was so extensive that the Mandalore's primary reactor was damaged, effectively shutting down the ship, as lights and computers began to flicker on and off until finally, there was darkness...
Emergency power generators kicked online and red lights ignited, providing the hapless crew with enough light to do what had to be done next...
"Captain, auxiliary power online! We've lost sublight..."
"Sound the collision alarm! We're going to be making a rough landing!"
On the ground...
General Mao'lo and the rest of the Liberation Army looked up into the skies, seeing the destruction taking place. Both the Mandalore and the Titan had fallen prey and were plummetting towards the earth, albeit in a 'controlled descent/crash landing' sort of way. Mao'lo couldn't believe his eyes. The Mandalore was in fact one of the toughest warships in the galaxy, but alas, tough enough for the Clone Wars didn't exactly make a ship tough enough for the Galactic Civil War.
As the Mandalore and the Titan finally hit the ground, explosions from both ships erupted, but fortunately, because both ships had not fully been dicentegrated in the atmosphere, the crews and additional support troops, who were also being reinforced by the Slayer's contingent, marched their way to the MLA battleline and joined ranks - bolstering the ground army even further than expected.
The newfound troops turned their attention on the only things standing in their way of total dominance - blowing up the Depot and bringing down the AT-ATs. Both tasks seemed all too easy now that the fearsome Basilisk Wardroids, piloted by single Mandalorian warriors, openly engaged the AT-ATs in a vicious firefight...

Imperial Base Forces
From the ruins of a Massassi temple, the Base CO and whoever was left of the command staff got a glimpse of the destruction in the atmosphere. Their cheers were quiet and muddled, as they didn't want to reveal their position, but their excitement was there nonetheless. Hopefully, the battle would be over soon and they could return to duty. What kind of duty though would have to be decided later, as they were also able to observe the Depot finally blowing up, and the rest of the MLA infantry fighting...
Onboard AT-AT Walker 1
"Colonel, holoscans are showing a surge in enemy troops, they're everywhere!"
"Standby... open a comm signal to the squad."
"Open, sir."
"Walker squad, this is Colonel Sears, hold your ground! We have reinforcements in the atmosphere on their way, so I repeat: we must stand our ground until they land! This battle is not over!"
With that, the Walkers got into a tighter formation, concentrating their firepower on the newly arrived Basilisk Wardroids, which were incredibly viable threats.

OOC Note: You dont have neutral stuff in the space calculator!!! Im gunna have to do this by hand so bare with me, I need you to go and re-check all my math hale. Also I assume those firesprays are with the mandalorian fleet. Please correct me if im wrong. Also, modified my damage, it really only gives me enough to kill one extra, which isnt worth my redoing the status for, they are just firesprays and the bulk of them are tractor locked in A-4. So we will just call it big overkill, and I give you a thanks for pointing out the oversight. I will note it for future reference. You should update the Space Calculator as it lists the NSBC as UCR 2.
"Sir, the imps seem to be getting pounded on the ground. If they dont do something soon they are gunna lose the planet. I almost feel sorry for em."
"Any reply to our message?"
"None sir, they seem to be ignoring us completely."
"Sir, message comming in from RP. They have been monitoring our systems and watching the situation, they order you to take out as many imperial forces as possible, they will try and deal with the mandalorians diplomatically after they remove the imperials from this world."
"They can not be serious!? They of all people should know the mandalorians only respond to brute force. Their diplomats will be slaughtered."
"The message is confirmed sir."
"Absolutely not, I will not take that shot, if we are to engage the imperials here it will be by THEIR choice. I did a dissertation in the academy on the mandalorians, none of them get out of this system! We will have many opportunities to engage the imps, and with much better odds. For now, move us in and see if you can strip out some of their fighter cover. Perhaps we can open the door to let the imps handle this themselves. Open a channel to that lead dreadnaught."
Com: "Imperial battle group, this is Lt Cdr Jason Starhammer, we will open the door, you guys get your troops to the ground. We stand by with 420 squads of rebel marines too aid in your ground actions if you should so request them. The mandalorians are a threat we can all respect, today let us fight together, there will be other opportunities to engage eachother, times when a mandalorian uprising is not on the horizon. Starhammer out."
With that the rebel fleet moved in to engage the mandalorian fighter support.

GM CLARIFICATION & NOTICE
Ramano: Your damage formula is correct, but the calculations are wrong. Bulk Cruisers are UCR3, which means your Damage Modifier would've been 3/5 or x0.6 - please modify your post and update your attacks, since you'll be dishing out alot more damage now.
-
I didnt shoot at a bulk cruiser though, I was shooting at the 20 or so FireSprays out there in A-4 from the Mandalorian fleet. =)
-
GM CLARIFICATION & NOTICE
Ramano -- Your ships, the NSBCs are UCR3, not UCR2. You were using 2/5 (x0.4) as your Modifier, which was wrong.
-
Oh.... err.... -feels stupid- Umm... it was your space calculator that told me NSBC was 2, I didnt bother to check it. Either way it really dont matter, 3 are still dead and 12 are tractor locked. I do however thank you for pointing that out, i'll be sure to be more careful from now on. =)

[^] AVENGER SQUADRON [^]
1st IMPERIAL EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
PRIMUS ET OPTIMUS ~ THE FIRST AND THE FINEST
Commanding Officer: LCDR Lucidius Hale
*
Onboard the CHANDRILA...
"Commander Hale, ComScan reports we've just received a message from the Rebel task force bearing 300 mark 090 that has just closed in and engaged the MLA Fleet. They request a non-aggression truce for the duration of this battle, and they're waiting on our reply..."
Hale sat quietly for a moment. "Are they serious? They must know we cannot stand for their presence in this system, helpful or otherwise..."
"What are your orders sir?"
"Move the fleet to join the Bob task force, so we can have some strength in numbers and finish off those blasted MLA Bulk Cruisers," replied Hale. "After that pounding we received we're going to need to reinforce our position."
"Yes sir. And as for the Rebels?"
"I'll deal with that," Hale got up and walked over to the ComScan station and opened a direct comm line to the lead Rebel Bulk Cruiser...
< Attention, Rebel fleet, you have entered orbit of Yavin IV, which constitutes a direct violation of the Decree of Imperial Supremacy in occupied systems. Any further movement closer to the planet will be considered a hostile act and an appropriate response will be made. Depart from Yavin IV at once. >
After Hale closed the comm line, he spoke with the enlisted ComScan supervisor
on watch, "Chief Zola, if those Rebels so much as blink in this direction, I want to know immediately."
"Yes sir," replied Zola. "We're not going to deal with them now though?"
"Not yet Chief," replied Hale, "securing Yavin is our first priority. Once those Mandalorian socialistas have been dealt with, the gloves come off."
"Yes sir..." replied Zola, with a hint of bloodthirst. He was waiting for the day to finally engage some rebels.
After a short while, the fleet finally reached the main battleline.
"Fire Control, are we in firing position yet?" asked Hale.
"Wait one sir..." a few technicians were finalizing their firing solutions to engage the MLA bulk cruisers. "Targets acquired sir, weapons are cleared for fire."
"Weapons cleared, aye" replied Hale. "Fire at will."
"Fire at will, aye" replied Fire Control, who then sent the firing solutions to the gunners, who began to unleash hell on the pair of MLA ships remaining in space.
Meanwhile, on the ground...
The four dropships sent from the fleet's Strike Cruisers landed successfully, and as soon as they touched down, hundreds of Stormtroopers began pouring out. Though making much noise in the thick jungle, their bootsteps were eventually drowned out by the deep rumbling steps of the AT-ATs which lumbered over the fresh Imperial troops with pride.
Onboard the lead AT-AT, Hale's ground commandant, Colonel Zane monitored the situation from his heads-up tactical holographic display, which showed a detailed holographic representation of the battlefield.. at least the battlefield in scanning range that was. On the ground, the hundreds of Stormtroopers, who had donned dark green plastoid armor prior to deploying effectively became 'jungletroopers' - as they were blending in much better with the environment than what their classic white armor would provide.
Within minutes, the walkers began opening fire on the Basilisk Wardroids, while Jungletroopers
took point in direct engagement of the Mandalorian warriors. It was ironic, that the Jungletroopers were facing Mandalorians - the very stock from which the original Stormtroopers were cloned from. Although the Galactic Empire had to integrate regulars into the Stormtrooper Corps since clone armies were no longer sustainable, the infantry battle collisions look as if they were mirror images of each other.
It was a chaotic firefight, as the jungle terrain afforded both sides a great deal of cover, but at the same time allowed for flank maneuvers and alot of forward movement. Although, none of this really mattered, as the sheer number of troops on both sides involved mitigated any sort of strategic offensive, especially considering the Mandalorians preferred rush tactics and direct frontal attacks - much the same way the Empire did, in that an overwhelmed and shocked enemy would eventually be a subdued one.
As the firefight continued, the TIE Bombers in the skies above began performing surgical air strikes on the defenseless Liberation Army, pounding them into submission...

"Cocky arnt they. Well, it would be best if we dont provoke them. Pull back to C-13 and continue to monitor the situation. If the imps want to die defending their planet, that is their choice. It will make for and easy liberation once they are gone."
"Roger sir, engines engaged."
"And dont forget about those firesprays, they will make a fine trophy."
"Aye aye sir."

FLASHPOINT GM-NPC POST
Flashpoint Recap
The tides were official turned when the mighty Mandalore fell from the skies and crashed into the Yavin jungles - however its sting would still be felt, as a its crew, along with some fresh troops from the Titan provided an amble boost to the MLA Ground Force. Though with the recent landing of Avenger Squadron's ground forces - the ground battle was officially ushered into its final chapter...
<> <> <>
Mandalorian Liberation Army
Mao'lo was riding in his command skiff, remaining in communication with his space fleet above him - until there was utter silence. He looked up, and saw the explosions and flashes between the Bulk Cruisers and the Imperial warships. This view was then interrupted by TIE Bombers, which began streaking the skies and dropping vicious proton bombs on his troops. This only prompted him to get more angry and enter one of his classic battle rages.
"ALL MANDALORIANS! STAND TOGETHER AND FIGHT! LET US GIVE THEM A TASTE OF OUR BLOOD!!"
As General Mao'lo's statement went over the comm lines, the firefight began as the MLA ground forces and the Imperial army faced off. The Slayer also took off, hoping to join the last of the fighting in space. At the same time, the units remaining in space did what little they could to stand their ground...

"Open a channel to the disabled firesprays we have tractored. Perhaps we can make this easy."
Comm: "Attention mandalorian vessels, you are disabled, tractor locked and targeted. You have been bested in this battle and your challenge met. Abandon your vessels and you may yet live to challenge me again, this I demand! Resist and I shall make your deaths honorless and without meaning. Your bodies will float lifeless in space, forgotten, and no one will ever know of your glory here. I ask, can your families live with such dishonor? Starhammer out."
"If I didnt know better sir, Id say you were a mandalorian."

GM CLARIFICATION & NOTICE
From the rules:
Ionization, Disabling, & Capturing
Ion weaponry is capable of firing harmful electromagnetically charged ionized particles to a target, and thus, affect energy levels instead of inflicting physical harm. Ion weapons bypass shields and impact a ship's systems directly. A ship is STUNNED when its systems reach 0 (UCR = 0; it can no longer move, fire weapons, or enter hyperspace, but may launch/recall craft as well as maintain shield power). A ship is stunned for one turn only, at the end of that turn its systems return to 100%. The following round it has full functionality unless attacked again. If a ship is stunned three times in a battle it remains disabled until the end of the battle. Systems ONLY recharge after reaching 0 points!
A ship is DISABLED when it has been STUNNED 3 times during a battle. When a ship is disabled, its power systems are incapable of being restored or even operating on an emergency threshold. Shields immediately lower once a ship is disabled, in addition to all other incapabilities it has while stunned.
A ship may be CAPTURED only after it has been DISABLED. In order to capture a vessel, it must be boarded and the onboard personnel must be killed. Ship crews are to be considered "Fleet Troopers", and by number are equal to 50% of the ship's length (example: a Corellian Corvette's Crew would be 8 Fleet Trooper Squads). Ship Crews are also considered Garrisoned (see Ground Combat Rules > Garrison Troops).
After the Ship's Crew has been killed, the ship must be brought back to a friendly world (with a Shipyard) via tractor beams. Once at a friendly shipyard, the captured vessel must undergo a systematic reprogramming of computer systems and installation of compatible equipment and complimentary units (which must be furnished at replacer's expense) -- this process takes an amount of time equal to the ship's production time. If control of the ship is not desirable, it cant be SALVAGED (redeemed at 50% cost) for income.

Umm... not sure if I understand what the objection to my last post is? I know this part I was reading it as I made the post. So im just at a loss. Whats the issue?
-
No issue, just making sure you know what to do with those Firesprays now, since they are DISABLED!

[^] AVENGER SQUADRON [^]
1st IMPERIAL EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
PRIMUS ET OPTIMUS ~ THE FIRST AND THE FINEST
Commanding Officer: CDR Lucidius Hale
*
Onboard the CHANDRILA
Hale was pleased with how the battle was going. Within a few moments, he was going to give the final orders to secure victory. Despite taking some armor damage, the Chandrila itself would be good enough to see the battle through.
"What's the situation on the ground?" asked Hale.
"We're recieving comms from Colonel Zane right now sir. Situation is going well. Stormtroopers are receiving casualties, walkers are untouched."
"Excellent. Tell the Colonel I want Mao'lo captured alive... and everyone else dead," ordered Hale.
"Yes sir..." replied the Comm Officer, with a grin. As the order went out. The rest of the fleet began opening up on the surviving Mandalorian forces in space.
Meanwhile, on the ground...
As the Jungletroopers received heavy casualties, Imperial firepower prevailed, as the sheer volume of faceless Imperial troops backed up by the mechanized war machines kept pushing through the jungles - and due to the dense terrain, alot of the skirmishes were close quarters battles. Though the repeated small arms blaster fire became increasingly less quiet as troops hit the ground dead, and the stompings of the AT-ATs boomed in the distance.

IS THIS THE END OF THE MLA?! ... FLASHPOINT TO BE CONCLUDED IN THE NEXT & FINAL GM-NPC POST!!
-
Oh yeah, I was just trying to give us an easy out and save on some needless SLing by allowing them to leave with their honor still intact. You gotta admit, that would make for some good mandalorian story telling on how they engaged the combined forces of the galaxy and survived, with a direct challenge to come back and try it again when they are better prepared.
And I mean lets face it, I have absolutely no intention of engaging either you or X here as that would be an obvious suicide run, and I cant afford that. So im just saying, lets save ourselves 6 posts each of dicking around with firesprays that have like 20 crew members each and get this done with. If that is acceptable to you of course. =)
Also, I vote we waive the customary 24hr posting cycle so you can get this done with =)

FLASHPOINT GM-NPC POST
Flashpoint Recap
This is the final chapter of the Mandalorian Liberation Army, for their hopes of staking claim in the universe have been all but shattered - now the only thing which remains is a broken warpath, a false crusade, a causeless cause... or not? Perhaps the death of Mao'lo and the defeat of the MLA here will be the martyr's catalyst needed to ignite the flames of socialism throughout the rest of the galaxy? Only time will tell of if another Liberation will rise up to challenge...
<> <> <>
General Mao'lo looked around him, and although the dense jungle terrain prevented him from seeing too far - his sight was not betraying him, as there were literally thousands of dead troops all over the jungle bottom. Mao'lo's command skiff was knocked out by an AT-AT, and he managed to jump out at the last moment. Now Mao'lo was on the run, looking for anywhere to hide. Fortunately for him, there were some Massassi ruins nearby the battleground which he hoped to make his last stand - for he wasn't planning on surviving in the Yavin jungles a fugitive for the rest of his life - he wanted to die a Mandalorian. With his boots strapped and standing firm on both feet.
Mao'lo eventually made his way deep into one particular temple. He heard echoes behind him of Jungletroopers fresh on his tail, and they would surely search the temple, for Mao'lo knew the tenacity of Imperial troopers. They never let anything out of their sight.
After running down a long flight of stairs, Mao'lo eventually made his way into a throne room, where he spotted a throne at the end of a long hall. He decided to sit in this throne and make his last stand there. His rifle was ready and aimed at the entrance of the throne room, ready to blast anyone who came down the stairs. Of course, light was an issue, as there was only a few beams of sunlight entering the throne room, making just about the entire room pitch black.
This wouldn't be an issue for Trooper GX-1878, who along with 9 other troopers activated their light enhacement mode in their helmet visors. They made contact with Mao'lo quickly, but due to their orders to bring him in alive, they didn't take a shot. GX-1878 made a silent tactical hand motion, giving the rest of his squad an order to set weapons for stun, though one of them with a long-range rifle maintained a clear shot on Mao'lo at all times in case he got out of control.
Within a few moments, the final assault began. A pair of flashbangs were lobbed into the main hall, followed by another pair of smoke grenades. The squad immediately rushed in soon afterwards and began spraying stun bolts in Mao'lo's direction, hoping to score a hit. Mao'lo himself though was a bit too prepared, as his full Mandalorian battle armor afforded him the same tactical advantages as the stormtroopers - if not more so. Neither the flashbangs nor the smoke distracted him, and after engaging his jetpack, he began opening fire on the squad from above.
Three troopers went down before the rest were finally able to stun him. Mao'lo came crashing down on the floor and knocked himself out. "General Mao'lo, you are under arrest," said GX-1878. "And you're coming with us..." At that moment, the stormtrooper squad picked up Mao'lo's incapacitated body and carried him outside, where an immediate evac was made. Mao'lo would soon find himself infront of Commander Hale, who would no doubt give him the Imperial taste of justice.
As the battle was winding to a close. The surviving Imperial troops lifted their weapons in victory, for Yavin - though bruised - remained Imperial once again...

The turbolift to the command bridge onboard the Chandrila slid open with a distincy 'whussshh' sound, revealing two fleet troopers escorting the captured General Mao'lo. The troopers then walked the prisoner to the center of the bridge, tossing him to the ground, with hands bound behind him. Mao'lo looked up, managing to squirm to his knees, and spit in Hale's direction. Mandalorian defiance had no end.
"Hmph," said Hale, almost admiring Mao'lo's tenacity, as he wiped his spit off his uniform, which then with his wiping hand he administered a hard backhand slap on Mao'lo's face, knocking him to the cold durasteel deck. "Tell me, Mao'lo... did you ever think you stood a chance against the Galactic Empire? Might I remind you, sir, that we are in control of this galaxy. Not the Rebels, not Black Sun, not the Hutts, no.. not one but the Empire itself..."
"The Empire is weak and you know it! Control is only an illusion you propogate yourselves in order to think you're the ruling power - but how long has the Empire been the dominant force in the galaxy compared to the Republic that preceeded it? Rule by violence is not sustainable and you know it! Rule by the people... SOCIALISM... will survive the likes of your... EMPIRE!"
"You insolent bastard!" Hale stepped closer to Mao'lo and backhanded him again to the deck. "You refuse to acknowledge defeat when it glares in your face. You truly are a Mandalorian... piece of bantha fodder!" Hale kicked him in the gut for good measure. "Guards! Take the prisoner to the missile deck... and give him a tour of the insides of our missile tubes..."
Two fleet troopers approached Mao'lo and picked him up, carrying out their orders. Within a few minutes, they arrived on the missile deck and threw Mao'lo inside of a tube. After signaling to the bridge that the tube was loaded, Hale gave the order to fire, ejecting Mao'lo at high velocity into the vacuum of space. His body frosted over immediately, drifting silently in space - until it was within safe weapons range of the Chandrila.
"Commander Hale, Mao'lo has been targeted," prompted the weapons officer.
"Fire when ready, maximum firepower."
"Yes sir," replied the weapons officer, who then adjusted the turbolasers to fire simulataneously at Mao'lo. "Weapons hot. Firing now."
"Survive this..." From the bow of the Chandrila erupted a synchronized salvo of green turbolaser bolts, all which impacted the frozen drifting body of Mao'lo at the same time, resulting in a massive explosion from the combined energized particles smashing together.
"Well done gentlemen, now let's go home. The Bob task force is leaving a contigent on the planet for post-op security, so let's get out of here."
"Yes sir. Hyperspace calculations have been made and all support units have been recalled. We are ready to depart sir," replied the executive officer.
"Very well, proceed. XO, you have the deck and the con," replied Hale, who was ready to retire to his quarters for some much needed rest...
