NOTES: Most of the Imperial forces that had been garrisoned at Cloud City during the Galactic Civil War left in the ramp up to the Battle of Jakku, leaving only a token defense to protect the Imperial administrator. Once news of the Battle of Jakku had reached Bespin, the people of Cloud City revolted, but the Imperial adminstrator had long since left. Deciding to capitalize on the opportunity, Lando Calrissian returned to Cloud City to get its affairs in order, but only to turn around and sell the operation to private investors and make a tidy profit. While the hero Calrissian no longer runs Cloud City, its investors are friends of the Republic and thus the tibanna gas is sold at a discount to the Republic, which helps lower the cost of blaster rifles.
