Actually, I hate flying and I can't bring my medicine on a plane, whos caravaning and picking me and the ole lady up??? :D

As long as people don't buy their tickets at the last second, airfare should be somewhere between $215 and $300. Not everybody has that just sitting around, but it's not $1,200 is the point. Or, if you want to bring the minis, just drive (Detroit to Northern Virginia would be an 8 or 9 hour roadtrip). People can split hotel rooms.
And then we have a weekend full of Star Wars, SWSF, Fantasy Flight games, and drinks! You, Hale and Hop could do a panel on the 2009-2019 years and keeping SWSF alive. I could do a presentation on Thrawn's most brilliant moments as a military tactician. And to get all of the original pre-AE guys excited, we could have Emperor Bane special guest and sign autographs ;)

Reminds me of when I went to the Star Wars exhibit at the Smithsonian, where they showcased the ISD models used in the movies. They were about 4 feet long.

Yeah I'd never by one, how much maneuvering could it possibly do on a game table even if you went to 6x12 and used a shuffle board stick to move the thing?
Now Im not at all doubting an AT AT showing up next year for Legion though. Battle of Hoth recreation in the most epic way. Im really hoping they do a good Freerunner for Legion more than anything first though solely for chance to do the model, not a fan of any of the Rebel pieces yet and I tend to buy play paint more by what I like the look of than what works on the table.
They need to look at 15mm scale Legion style as well though for more epic ground battles. Even at current point schemes and move/attack ranges and model sizes, it's quite limited with what they could be doing with a smaller scale model. Take the FoW approach of a 'squad' of troopers being a single base and vehicles being bought in packs of 1-3 depending on size (ex 2 ATSTs, 3 T47s, 1 ATAT)
But either way, as soon as they put out some Ewoks, I'm going Ewok army on the table. ;p
I haven't looked at Rebellion a whole lot much myself yet. FFG is just grabbing handfuls of awesome and throwing it at us left and right though. So hard to remain focused.

Star Wars Celebration 2020 is going to be in Anaheim. Exact dates not confirmed yet. We could kick off our first SWSFCon the same weekend. Just book a couple of adjacent rooms in the same hotel, enjoy SWCelebration together, and discuss all things Star Wars into the late night over drinks at the bar.
Thoughts?

We could also print out cards from vistaprint, with the link to the website and pass them out to anyone who says they used to play on the original AOL forum.
Launch a special campaign that weekend and mention that on the card also.
Would be really good if we could book a booth.
