Gonna have Imperial fun in After Jakku, so I'll go Rebel in this game. We have plenty of Imps laying around on the forum. If some old schoolers come back we should have a nice brawl on our hands.

Gonna bring back the AOL character just for shits. Adam Smash.

  I sent you 4 MC80 versions.  Independence class (original), Liberty class (the hull shape with the 'wings'), Home one class (Indep class hull style) and Mon Remonda class (slightly similar appearance to Liberty class, but first purpose built warship- as opposed to all previous MC cruisers which were modified and refitted to serve as such.


  Dont need the 75 unless someone really wants it that bad.  Will submit a 90 and wait to do an RAF til I see the DRDs to base off of.

Probably because there is no such thing as an "official" spec. Try as we might to source accurate data (via Wookiepedia or elsewhere), converting that data into a gaming format is another matter. Then, there's also the issue of scale... if everything adheres to Shields = Length x2, Armor = Length x1.5, and Systems = Length x1... then balancing weapons efficacy needs to be taken into account. For instance, a handful of starfighters and auxiliary bombers can rip apart a Star Destroyer in the movies, but in our games, an ISDs shields make it de facto impervious to small craft (unless massive and sustained warhead attacks are used). So, there's the issue of making sure starfighters get their due without compromising the strength of capital ships as well. At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter what the final Length multiplier is going to be. We could make the ISD's Shields 8000, but this means we'd have to make sure weapon damage goes up to accommodate for this relativistic increase. My rule of thumb is to give a Laser Cannon a damage value of 1. This is the simplest baseline we can start with, and it allows us to scale up from there. Another thumb rule is that an ISD should be able to incapacitate a CORV in a single round.

So, Hop is working on a more faithful adaptation of AE that should be completed within a few months. If there is a legit appetite for a game like that, we can put FP on ice and keep AJ going in the mean-time. My thoughts are that I didn't want to have FP plus some other traditional style game going at the same time (we can only do so much). What do you guys think?

So yeah it is a pretty faithful reboot of AE, just a few things are refactored/fixed and things like hyperspace will work a little differently, etc. and ground combat is a little different.

I want to build a few helper apps that will go along with it -- one for mapping units onto the grid visually and one for empire management, that will also allow a way for us to secretly scan each other's systems and that sort of thing, to maintain some surprise and secrecy about things... the map app shouldn't take long, the other is a longer project. It could probably be ready BEFORE a few months, depending on interest.

I am planning on having more than 1 ship per player but still not settled on how that will work. Probably will be something like 1-3 ships for most players.

  If we don't get an NR/REsistance faction in AJ after some story development benchmarks I would consider putting TNO on temporary ice and picking up the other end for some variety and to bring that angle more directly in to the game for us there.  Depending on how the whole "catch up" element would work anyways

This is going to be a Starfighter/Auxiliary centric game not dissimilar from the X-Wing Miniatures Game, but with a little more details to make it more interesting and fun.

Changed the NEB to Invictus ("Maverick" was a placeholder name, lolz).

Gonna keep the basic ship list tidy, as players will have the option of customizing/upgrading.

This looks awesome, I was excited about it. But, maybe we could fit something like this into AJ as (Rogue Squadron)-style campaigns and side skirmishes. And SL those characters when there are no current Rogue Squadron-style battles going on.
